I'm just going to repost some comments I made on a Christian website regarding the events we have witnessed this year, with the hope that it may provide just a bit more insight into your curiosity on the birth pangs from a biblical point of view. I just want to say though, that I have been watching events for just over 20 years now and nothing over that period of time comes remotely close to the culmination of activity we see currently. I also read of others who have been looking likewise for much longer than I have, people in their 60s and 70s, who also feel the same. There is something up and I submit that these are the birth pangs as mentioned in the bible that will lead to a seven + year period of time known as the tribulation period. Room does not do the issue justice here so I just repost below some thoughts and comments I have for your consideration.

I been really sensing these birth pangs picking up dramatically since the beginnings of this year. After the quake in Christchurch, I thought if there is one more event soon, then I am making a call to my mother and posting some relevant scripture on my facebook updates regarding the back-to-back natural disasters (which even a number of non-believers are seeing and querying) to relay those passages of scripture verses relevant to the signs of the age from Luke 25. I did just that on both accounts.

Honestly I do not know how so many people can be so blind (so to speak) to what is occurring around the world currently. I don't think it matters 'why' or 'how' or excused as part of technological developments and / or climate change etc.

When prompted by the disciples as to what signs would precede His coming, Jesus said very very clearly:

Luke 21:10 'Then he said to them, “Nation will rise up in arms against nation, and kingdom against kingdom.
‎21:11 There will be great earthquakes, and famines and plagues in various places, and there will be terrifying sights and great signs from heaven.
21:25 “And there will be signs in the sun and moon and stars, and on the earth nations will be in distress, anxious over the roaring of the sea and the surging waves.
21:26 People will be fainting from fear and from the expectation of what is coming on the world......"

I was wondering after the Christchurch quake if we were soon going to see yet another event, or would there be a lull in activity. Less than several weeks later, look what happens - a massive EQ and Tsunami that devastates yet another city in Japan - Sendai, among others.

If it is like this now, I admit, I don't think I can comprehend what the tribulation period will be like, what will it become then? We see countries around the world responding with assistance to nations stricken with natural disaster as they are sequentially occurring, but soon these events may begin occurring more simultaneously and it will become far more difficult and arduous to provide assistance. Cannot imagine the chaos that will result.

We can recap less than 3 months into 2011:

• Widespread protests, riots and uprisings
  
• Global economic woes and governments with huge fiscal / financial problems
  
• Widespread flooding and snow storms and tropical cyclones
  
• Earthquakes appearing much more frequently and with greater intensity - Christchurch and a couple of cities in Japan just about wiped out AND movement of the island of Japan by approx 2.5 meters
  
• Strange happenings in the ecological environments, particularly marine environments (ie dead fish etc)
  

Just to name a few. I'm not suggesting these are the biggest events to have occurred, I know they are not, but they are escalating at an incredible and undeniable frequency - it even has some skeptics thinking or otherwise amazed!

I just know that when Jesus said, when you see these things begin to happen to look up for your redemption draws near! These are comforting words and I am more than ready to go.*

*Note: I am referring to the rapture of the Christians here from the earth. This event we understand will occur immediately before the tribulation period that will span some 7 + years until the second coming of Jesus.

Sorry for the heavy biblical reference, but to put this all in context, I feel I need to share as much.

i'll be honest with ya i used to go to church but dont anymore i believe there is a higher being out that watches over us
like i said before maybe we r being tested or it could be just a freak line of events that just come out of no where

What does that even mean, "line up with the earth"? The earth is a single point in space. Everything's already lined up with the earth. EVERYTHING. Name a cosmic body. ANY cosmic body. Comet, star, planet, galaxy, whatever.

You can draw a completely straight, perfect line, between the earth and that object. Guaranteed. This isn't even astronomy, it's grade school geometry, the path between point A and point B is a straight line.

So far asia and south American has been hit by deadly disasters, middle east with deadly protest. I have a feeling Europe or north America or africa is next...but then does the severe snowstorm in usa count?

It's pretty insane to consider that all that has changed in the past ten years. It doesn't even feel that drastic, but on paper it's a wow factor.

Ever since the uprising in Egypt, I've had the impression that the world is slowly collapsing. It was weird because I had a feeling that things would get worse, and they did. Now, we've had quite a few disasters in History but not like this. It's almost like pattern and the frequency of these catastrophes are increasing, if you've noticed.

I'm not saying the world is ending, but I do think humanity is going to experience a number of drastic changes that can either have the potential to exalt or completely eradicate us. It's entirely our choice, but with the number of ignorant people on this chaotic planet, my synopsis of the future isn't very good.

I've never been religious but the Bible prophecies seem eerily similar to what's going on. Do you remember several months ago when we had reports of mass bird and fish extinctions? Well, some of the rivers were tinted red with blood in some spots. Revelations once stated that there would be mass extinctions and the rivers would be stained red. Coincidental? Maybe...but who knows.

People need to open their eyes, because while the world may not end, something strange is definitely going on. Yes, I know this website is technically for conspiracy theorists, but I've found quite a few intelligent and well-informed people on here that actually agree with me. It's not just this website either, a lot of people claim March 21st is the start of Tribulation. Whether it is or not isn't exactly important, what's important is that there's going to be some huge event and people are sensing this.

I'm not saying I'm right or anything, and I apologize if I rambled.

It's about time humanity stop worrying about trivial matters and opened their eyes so that maybe we can prevent a terrible future, ya know?

For every end there is a new beginning. I know people are linking current events to the whole "2012" theory because of the Mayans and other prophecies, but who says they were predicting the End? The Mayan calendar ends on 2012, but maybe it symbolizes the end of an era of our primitive way of thinking and barbaric tendencies (The human version of "Friendship" is hostility, look at the relationship of the US and the Native Americans, for God sakes.).

This could be the start of a new era where humans finally open their eyes to the possibility of anything. A civilization can only truly advance if they attempt to defy the boundaries they set upon themselves. Space travel was once considered possible, but now scientists are searching for planets that are apt for colonization. Everyone is afraid of failure so create rules to limit their minds, but their failures could benefit them in the end. If we believe that we are capable of accomplishing anything, then we would have better control over our own future.

We've become too dependent on the Government and our society to do everything for us, but it's slowly making us apathetic and ignorant. Although we claim the Government and society put limitations on our freedoms and our minds, we let them do it because it's what we wanted. Humanity is in search for a care-free future; this means relinquishing our responsibility and control. Those who have responsibility usually are under a lot of pressure to make decisions in the best interests of everyone else and obviously we don't want to have to worry about that because then we won't be able to watch South Park in peace (God forbid...)

Yes, the world seems to be imploding, but it's only because we let it. The direction and outcome of these events depends primarily on our decision to try and control the situation instead of letting it control us. Our course of action could very well lead to Mankind's ultimate triumph or to Mankind's ultimate doom, the choice is ours.

reminds me of when i was at Sussex Inlet in early Novemeber last year THOUSANDS of dead birds along the beach... and then i heard all these reports it was happening everywhere else in the world i wish ide had my camera on me!

Birth pangs.

I keep saying worse is yet to come, 2012 is not the end it will only convince people nothing is going to happen and that they are "safe".

A cataclysm is on the way, one unlike any the world has seen before.

Prepare for the event to come that are worse and more frequent.
