I'm not sure what this guy was thinking, he is very lucky the waves weren't a couple meters higher.

I didn't see how the surf shop was messed up. Nice vid though, it would have been fun to play in the puddles.

lol wet himself.

why is it that people flock to the beach front when people say tsunami?
its like " hey, big waves travelling fast, i know, ill go to where its gonna hit just to get a vid to put on youtube...man im kool"

its fools like that that clog up emergency services in an actuall emergency

I am glad there are people who take risks to get videos. Good for him.
This guy gets a video for us to see and so he is somehow disrupting rescue services. We all know we can't trust the mainstream media at all, so we should appreciate this kind of initiative.

If it was me I would have a HD cam in one hand and video phone live streaming to a web site in the other, just incase.

If it makes him kewl for posting to Utube, I will leave that to the masses.

Thanks for sharing.

I think the man is a badass and I'd buy him a drink. Granted, I'm quite insane and would love to chase Tornadoes, but this guy stood up to the wave and basically said "Piss off". Chuck Norris himself wouldn't have the heart.

Life is about testing one's own Immortality.

It's like people aren't used to dangerous stuff so when it happens their uncontentious forgets that it's dangerous.

What a goon. That's why a lot of people just shake their heads at the tourists.

He's pretty lucky it wasn't any worse, could have easily lost more than a slippa.

mahalos mayabong for making this thread, i was about to post one myself, but i'm happy to find one made already.
i just want to add a few more vids that i have found recently...

this one really shows Kailua-Kona bay draining out..

this one show many of the destroyed bussinesses and homes in Kona and Kealakekua Bay..

more of the ocean receding before more surge comes in..

all in all no fatalities, but a few million dollars in damages, and each tourist that was here for this got the experience of their lifetime!!

Thank goodness no one was hurt, but poor Kona! One of my favorite places in the world. I hate to see it get beat up so badly, but it sure could have been worse.

Mahalo for sharing.
