The shores of Acapulco's beaches were this weekend teeming with masses of fish packed so tightly they looked like an oil slick from above.
Thousands of sardines, anchovies, stripped bass and mackerel surged along the coast of the Mexican resort in an event believed to be linked to the devastating Japanese tsunami.

I'm sure this has to be caused by the Japanese tsunami. I'm also wondering if these fish will die off because of swimming so tightly packed. Most of the explanations of other fish die-offs stated that they died from lack of oxygen. Or, I hope this doesn't mean there will be more events, the other large fish die-off in California preceded the Japanese earthquake.

Sorry I disagree with this information is not anything unusual I've seen it countless times in my youth in Portugal.

I would venture to say that these fish know exactly what killed the fish that washed up in California this week! I guess the lucky ones made it to Acapulco!

Sorry this happens several time's a year in many countries and perfectly normal .Will soon be joined by bloated packs of oppertunistc sharks then their cousins the media arrive to exploit the situation .
