It is something that is quiet simple and yet there are so many times that we loose the plot and forget that we have all the right to say no. We all know how to say no, but the problem seems to be the way we go about saying no. For me its all about the programming we receive, take Mr C.Sheen for instance. People have said no to him and his acting and he is angry about it, why can’t he just accept that no. There is plenty of room for him to continue with his directions in life, but it it seems we must fight that no and not accept it. This isn’t like the bounce that Slayer refers to, it is rebel just for the sake of it. Waste your time mouthing off rather than just finding your way around the situation.
Bruce Lee

I love the way Lee reminds us there are many ways to change a situation, to stand up for our rights. Our worst enemy always looks to convince us that we have no options but the one option he/she is offering. But why not say no, its fully within our human rights to do so.
Mr Gandhi was an expert at it, the ultimate peaceful warrior. No need for big muscles and guns just pure intent.

Mahatma Gandhi view
We had lost the power of saying 'no'. It had become disloyal, almost sacrilegious to say 'no' to the Government. This deliberate refusal to co-operate is like the necessary weeding process that a cultivator has to resort to before he sows. Weeding is as necessary to agriculture as sowing. Indeed, even whilst the crops are growing, the weeding fork, as every husbandman knows, is an instrument almost to daily use.
The nation's non-co-operation is an invitation to the Government to co-operate with it on its own terms, as is every nation's right and every good government's duty. Non-co-operation is the nation's notice that it is no longer satisfied to be in tutelage.
The movement of non-violent non-co-operation has nothing in common with the historical struggles for freedom in the west. It is not based on brute force or hatred. It does not aim at destroying the tyrant. It is a movement of self-purification. It therefore seeks to convert the tyrant. It may fail because India was not ready for mass non-violence. But it would be wrong to judge the movement by false standards. My own opinion is that the movement has in no wise failed. It has found an abiding place in India's struggle for freedom.

So let us all learn how to say no, because when you say no you know what you don’t want and dont need. This will always lead you to what you truly need. ~which in these times, is definitely something worth considering.

I would like to see people en mass ala Cairo, stand up to these TSA SS Officers and say, We will not let you grope our privates and molest children, and force handicapped to get out of their wheelchairs. BUT HOW would that be done? That NEEDS TO STOP.

S+F
Brilliant!
I've stated in the past when talking about Obamacare (among oher things) that when it comes time for the government to mandate that you HAVE to do something. . . .

Just say no.
Refuse.
Don't "participate".

Nice thread, great topic!

At the same time as you create this "no" intent, please also realize that something also of your creation should be ready to fill the "void" left by "no". What I mean is that if you don't like the TSA fondling you, you either need to be prepared to *not* cross into their realm of authority for quite some time, until they are no longer relevant, or you need to have a solid legal stance to provide demonstrating your right not to be searched.

If you try to fly directly in the face of the current processes, you will fail. You must bear this in mind at all times and in all dealings with authority. They want power over you in every aspect of your existence. They created the systems that oppress and restrict you expressly for this purpose. Letting them know that your sovereignty is more important that jumping through their hoops is the way forward. You won't have it both ways.

More generally, the power of saying "no" requires thought and self-knowledge. It wouldn't seem so, would it? lol But that is very much the case. You will necessarily develop a greater or perhaps even hitherto unknown sense of self-reliance and self-determination. Once you start making your choices consciously and purposefully, it creates a snowball effect. You will need to examine not only the intent of the party requiring you to do something you object to, but you will need to know within yourself why this particular thing causes this reaction for you as well as what it is you prefer in its stead, along with the whys and wherefores of that choice.

Now, this doesn't mean that you will have to create a cerebral exercise of each and every thought and motion you undertake, but at first it may feel that way, particularly once you do begin examining your own genuine intent. Introspection can be unsettling, but there is no greater light in the universe.

yes you are right after the no must come a beneficial yes, and the method in which you apply your no is also very important. These are all important steps in awakening and leaving the dream behind. Treat this world as a bridge!!
