Astrologists point to history to validate their predictions, says Ben Yakas at Gothamist. Both the New England hurricane of 1938 and the Australian Hunter Valley floods of 1955 happened during Super Moons, they say. The last Super Moon came in 2005, at around the same time as Hurricane Katrina and the Indonesian tsunami.

Go retake 8th grade science if you can't put two and two together.
Can you provide the 8th grade science textbook that states the Moon's perigee causes earthquakes?
Or did you confuse tectonic activity with tidal force?

The moons increased gravity, will have an increased pul,l on EVERYTHING. That includes sub-terrainian liquids, like MAGMA.
And that new energy factor could result in favorable conditions for tectonic plates to release previously stored energy, I.E.....AN EARTHQUAKE! Do you know how much energy is used to pull the oceans around all day???
Did you ever stop to realize that the moon has the same effect on ALL massive bodies of fluid??
Damn public schools......

Here, some expert input for you those that are slow of thought.
vulcan.wr.usgs.gov...

Then you should take the bag off ur head.
Scientists have found no correlation between the tides and earthquakes.

The moon does not have to be at its scientificly closest point for it increased pull to have an effect. And you should know by now what kind of force is being exerted on the crust, from the magma below. Duh.
I usually charge for tutoring, time is money as they say. For you I will go pro bono.
And ur head is that which is void, not my idea.
Cheers!

Again, pro bono.

Ur welcome.
"There's no evidence to support that," said John Bellini, a geophysicist with the survey's National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado. "There were some studies in the past that tried to link lunar effects to seismicity [the relative frequency and distribution of earthquakes] and there was nothing found."
