The carbon dating on the Shroud is bogus
Thomas Phillips of the HIgh Energy Physics Laboratory At Harvard stated concerning the fact that if the body of the man in the Shroud gave off
radiation during the image-encoding process it could have radiated neutrons..."which would have irradiated the Shroud and changed some of the nuclei
to different isotopes by neutron capture. In particular, some C-14 could have been generated by C-13." This would make the Shroud appear younger.
Michael Tite (who coordinated the carbon dating of the Shroud for the British Museum , "It is certainly possible if one gave the Shroud a large dose
of neutrons to produce C-14 from the nitrogen in the linen cloth."
Robert Hedges (scientist who participated in the carbon dating of the Shroud at the Oxford lab), "sufficient level of neutrons from radiation on the
Shroud would invalidate the radiocarbon date which we obtained."
The Shroud survived 2 fires. Simulation experiments showed that the 2 samples that were irradiated and then heated in the fire simulation experiments
showed age changes of 1,120-1,390 yrs.
Not only this but the sample of cloth that was used to do the carbon dating was a piece that had been treated with starch ammong other things, and
also had been repaired. Professor Riggi..."due to contamination of the cloth with threads of different origins which even in small quantities could
cause variations in the dating due to their being of later addition...
The theory that the Shroud was painted has been disproved but will continue to air on our TV's, knowing that we are just too lazy to do the research
and will just believe what they say because it's on TV. I got this info from the book, 'Resurrection of the Shroud' by Mark Antonacci. It's the
most excellent source of information, the author being a lawyer presents all the evidence.
