A question to any SCIENTIST on ATS.....2012 ...More questions than Answers

Historic records prove that something was predicted thousands of years before 2011 . Internet and MSM is just a open source to share collected info and data . I find links that share the same ongoing information that prove a event without data .

Does the united states House Committee on Science and Technology and Norad and Nasa know something about that date ?

NASA's Near Earth Object program can not predict 2012 .

If 2012 is known would FEMA notify the population through the National Warning System ?

If anyone has any INFO about this 2012 theory with some data . Please share it . I would like to understand the connection .

Please don't ask scientists to provide data on something for which no data exists.

They aren't hiding the truth, there is actually nothing there to hide.

There have been other dates when people believed that the world would end and that have now passed.

Based upon both observation and theory, a scientist would say it is NOT likely that the world will end in 2012.

I have yet to see anyone provide evidence of these so called prophecies. I have seen people provide modern prophecies that have been attributed to ancient cultures. I have also seen modern people claim things the ancient people never said. The only legitimate claims I have seen in regard to 2012 is that the Mayans mentioned this date. That's true. However, in the entire Classic Mayan period, there is only one mention of 2012. Furthermore, during this period there are no calendars that end after 13 baktun. In some extend up to 20 baktun. The 13 baktun Long Count calendar is a post-Columbian convention.

I think the consensus around here is that no, the government would not tell us anything. NASA and FEMA have earned a special loathing among all but a few, and the name of any other federal agency is pretty much spat out with as much distaste as one might say "Satan!".

Indeed, there are many in these parts who apparently believe that The Powers That Be already know something is up and are planning to imprison the survivors as slave labor to, first, bury the dead, and then--well... who knows?

Of course, that's only my opinion. Others will undoubtedly disagree.
