Hague fury as Iranian arms' bound for Taliban seized'

www.bbc.co.uk

The foreign secretary has condemned Tehran's "completely unacceptable" behaviour after British Special Forces seized a shipment of suspected Iranian arms intended for the Taliban.

The 48 rockets are understood to have been intercepted in Nimruz Province, in southern Afghanistan, on 5 February.

UK officials say technical analysis showed they had come from Iran.

Hi not sure if this has been posted but not looking good for Iran. Great way for TPTB to mount a case to invade Iran....here we go again!
The question is: Did the Rockets really come from Iran? Or is our friend Dr. Ahmadinejad being set up? I wonder what the response will be from Tehran will be about these accusations?

It is believed that both UK and Afghan troops were involved in the operation to intercept them in Nimruz, which borders Iran.

Seems they knew they were coming..
I wonder who told them...

Something smells fishy IMO...

What if the ANA found them, would it be ok then? Or is it just because Iran has been caught red handed by non-U.S. forces in which you don't want to believe it? What is it going to take in order for thus stuff to be legit?

I wonder why Hague fury is never extended to America when they supply arms to terror cells. You know the terror cell I'm talking about? The Israeli Defence Force.

To add to this, if these statements are correct, and Iran has been supplying the Taliban with weapons, then I strongly oppose those actions. They are only putting themselves and their people deeper into danger by doing so. I'd also like to add, that across the whole article I have seen no difinitive proof that Iran supplied these weapons, as of now it is still only he said, she said.

Typical western mentality.. Illegally invade and occupy a country.. Murder its citizens.. Then whinge when they obtain weapons to defend themselves and their homes from the illegal invaders...

Further analysis has determined the initial analysis to be incorrect.

It has now been determined that they came from China and made entirely from cat flesh.

On a serious note, I say send them back into Iran via air mail.

I think they call supplying weapons to the enemy an act of war.

Considering the duplicitous nature of our CIC, I have no idea what he'll do.

Who am I kidding... He ain't gonna do JACK.

US soldiers are attacked with US weapons all the time..
Just because they believe the weapons came from Iran does not mean the Iranian Government is involved..
And don't the US aid and fund the Taliban anyway.??

Iran, al-queda, taliban are all the same thing me thinks.......Is it a coincidence a)they were supplying both iraq and iran but only supporting iraq openly? b)they were helping al-queda and the taliban fight off the russians before al-queda turned its attention to the USA? c)they attacked iraq twice, the country they were openly supporting up to desert storm, rather than attack iran from the beginning?

The turd leader of iran keeps opening his big mouth about israel and the USA all the time, while all the other muslim nations say nothing. Is this another coincidence? Guess what they don't say stuff, not because they are scared of israel, but because they understand israel has a right to exist and because muslims already own 95% of the middle east.

I'm curious exactly what they were. 'Rockets' is a very vague term in the MSM.

If they were RPGs its good they were stopped but they probably wouldn't have been game changing. If they were modern generation russian MANPADS thats a much bigger deal.

In either event we should give these confiscated weapons to the Libyan rebels on the quiet :-)

Rockets likely means a few crates of bm1s or bm21 grads or some other older rocket technology from soviet russia. The 'insurgents' (often local populace sick of being accidentally bombed and shot at) set these up a while away from bases and other places of centralisation and let rip. Sometimes missing and hitting houses of innocents but enough damage is done to keep the occupiers wary and awake and cost some lives and money in the process.

Like this sorta thing;

Mr. Hague: Look at this! The Iranians are sending arms to the Taliban... look I tell ya, no, not over there at the screwed up embarrasment at having our special forces arrested with arms, explosives and multiple passports in Libya... that's not important!

The strength of evidence of Iranian involvement in this particular case would depend on the source of the tip-off and what it consisted of, factoring in other relevant information such as known ratlines from Iran to various groups/individuals or distribution centres in Afghanistan. Note that most of these items had any incriminating markings removed. They were altered so that to a casual observer, they would not look Iranian-made.

False-flag my arse. If we would initiate a full-scale war with Iran over something like this then we would have had it a long time ago, and operations countering Iranian influence in the country have been ongoing for years and do not require the approval of the window-lickers at home.
