It's the killing them that is the issue, mostly not legal.. but quite a number of the older fishermen I know have eaten them while out at sea as a nicer alternative to fish fish fish...

I'd feel about as weird eating a seagull as I would eating a dolphin. I dunno nothing about it seems right.
