demonstration of America's military power

July 19, 2004
Washington Times

YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE, Japan -- It's an exercise not quite like any Rear Adm. James Kelly has led his battle group into before.

In the coming weeks, the USS Kitty Hawk and six other Navy aircraft carriers will be deployed around the globe to demonstrate America's ability to deal with a decidedly post-September 11 scenario: the outbreak of violence just about everywhere at once.

Does this have to do with the other 7 carrier groups that are deployed?
Or is this a separate war game cuz I was watching something n TV where a US carrier plus other carriers form other countries were conducting an exercise on a mock war game

This is all being done as a part of Summer Pulse '04. There is nothing to be concerned with here people. Nor is there anything new to see here.

Move along.

WestPoint.... you might be referring to "summer pulse 04", we have several carriers deployed for that...

this sounds like its in addition to that deployment to me.

Very good point!

We (US) have 12 Carrier battle groups, 7 are near Taiwan, so I would assume that this is part of that group of 7.

I can not see the US moving all 12 to one location.

This has to be the same group from my previous post.

I will research this more!
