Egyptian Army attacked by State Security

Things developed rapidly when the snipers at the roof of state security began to target the protesters , not less than three were badly injured including an activist called Hassan Mustafa who got shot in his stomach. Hassan Mustafa has survived thank God but his condition is critical , he needs your prayers. Also photographer and activist Abdullah Esmat was injured in his shoulder and transfered to hospital.
The army came when the snipers began to attack the people and smoke began to appear from the building itself . People knew that the SS officers were still destroying important documents.
Now from what I understand the army was neutral when it came but sooner the SS officers and thugs began to throw Molotov cocktails again then came the snipers who united the army and people again together . The turning moment came when the army got an order to control the building and arrest the officers.

This was yesterday. Events are dramatically evolving post-revolution, I don't expect the media to highlight thats happening with all thats going on in Libya so to whoever is interested read this:

Basically the rumors were true, State Security (mubarak's police dogs) were burning documents and protesters today tried to prevent the burning of these documents and tried to storm Interior ministry HQ but were stopped by army and soon after were attacked by thugs out of nowhere. Following these events is kinda hard since there is no proper coverage. In the past days however, protesters all over egypt managed to access SS HQs and found torture devices, phone tapping, spying on citizens and important info and secret underground prisons.

Despite the oceans of shredded papers our friends have found at the HQ , they found very important files in the HQ.

They found all kind of weird stuff too including underground prison with detainees inside:

Our friends found torture devices , sex films made for famous personalities "this is so Safwat Al Sherif !!" and also Sony PlayStation !! They also found weapons and some CSF officer who was so scared and told them that he was innocent. The officer was handed to the army.
The underground prison was hard to find at first but the people found them. Some were speaking about screams from the underground prison. The cells were found , some people say they were locked electronically but they were opened. The detainees were released after being years in detention , one of them has been released there for 14 years !!!!!!!!!!! The detainees were blindfold and stayed in small cell without light !!!!!!!!!! Even the military police soldiers and officers were touched.

The aftermath of the revolution is a work in progress. I am very pleased to see the army playing a positive role in so many ways we wouldn't have imagined. This looks like a thorough cleansing of the Egyptian state from its parasites.

WHY has this thread not been picked up by members??? Wow, I am going to have to process this info but off the top of my head I just wonder if Mubarak has planted the evidence to be found and to create hell for the rest of the world.

I hope Slayer and a few others who understand this kind of thing can help me understand the truth behind this news.

Nothing really seems to have changes with the fall of Mubarak. The world cheered, and then stopped watching. Reality is that the same people, and the same institutions are in power. Military Trials of civilians continue.

Sadly, today a women rights march was surrounded by mobs of men. They were accosted, and threatened. Revolution does not mean suddenly everything will become peachy.

You have to hope they find all the hidden prisons. This has been on my mind ever since the collapse of the government. I'd hate to be some poor s.o.b. stuck in a forgotten prison.

Normally I'm vehemently against torture, but I'd make an exception in this case and apply some electroshock where it'd do the most good. Time is critical. I have zero sympathy for government psychos who torture others or condone it. Grab a few and "interrogate" them with their own equipment.

Then when you've found all the hidden underground prisons you can, seal all the ex-security people you can catch in them and leave them, placing a marker over them explicitly stating what was done with them and why.

Seal the state security people in there own underground prisons.
then blow up the building on top of them.

I'm not going to hold it against them because they have taken the role of the police and at times like these its hard to control such crowds who if left alone would probably torch the place. Although this video shows protesters telling each other not to vandalize the building: www.youtube.com...

There were many prisoners found, but i dont have much info about them and what they went through. There were secret doors and stuff.

State Security building was like a maze with secret doors and prisons. At one point protesters were breaking the floor because they heard sounds underneath them. Not sure if they found every secret door yet. One of the big SS building was designed to look like a Pharaonic temple.

As for the million woman protest today that only a few hundred showed up, were indeed met with a group of men telling them to go home and cover their heads. Its sparked controversy in egypt's news media with there being two sides to the table, people feel this was not the time for women to make the revolution about their "unimportant" demands and the other side thinks now would be the only time for women's voice to be heard. But there aren't many of the latter to be honest, society finds the revolution was about fighting a more "powerful" oppression than ones imposed on gender and so what occurred wasnt totally surprising. Heck most of Egyptian women poked fun of "feminist protest" and if the majority of women don't see their female rights to be a priority now then how can they convince the men there? At some point it will change not now though, i think in order for women to get their revolution there will first have to be a spark that ignites it.

So the social problems that escalated to violence and verbal abuse in the country are: Christian's rights and Women's rights. There are clashes happening for both. And thugs are still everywhere targeting Churches while the army is being passive only do they sometimes activily do something to help christians. It clearly has a problem controlling all those districts including Tahrir and archeological sites. And the police are nowhere, they are busy doing this: english.ahram.org.eg...

There are too many rumors flying around. Right now Christian are being attacked by thugs (whoever they are). There is noticeable chaos, no police around anywhere and Christians are the most vulnerable. Army is unable to handle this and eveyone is complaining about their incompetence at stopping such violence. Egyptians think this is State Security unleashing chaos, but could that be true? Egypt had always had minor clashes between muslims and the minority christians, muslims being the aggressors so its not out of place. However, one of the documents from SS building revealed that the gov had a hand in the bombing of the church last year, so maybe these clashes were somehow always state sponsored. Thats a little crazy to think that though, its more likely there is prejudice thats fueling this. People on the scene describe them as thugs similar to mubarak's thugs during the protests, where they feel there is some organised planned movement that scale across egypt and not just random attacks. If its the SS, then why? The head of SS just got arrested today, so why would they still be doing this?

Also I understand that the SS has its hands deep in every slums and is able to mobilize all the bad elements in society at their whim. As for the women's protests in tahrir, people are spreading rumors that foreign women are behind this women's protests.

I am saddened to hear of Egyptians fighting other Egyptians over religious prejudice. Now is the time to make the country a truly 21st century model, but unfortunately it doesn't look like that will be the outcome, or at least it will continue to be a struggle before that happens.

Thanks again for bringing us back to this on-going struggle. We have to realize that it will be no simple process for any of the countries attempting similar reform. It's not an overnight thing. Too many problems to tackle all at once or by simply removing the head. That is only the start of things.

It will take time I guess to change the mentality, but I can't help but think why would these people want to divide egypt and create tensions between men and women, muslims and christians; its so much easier to just blame it on State Security playing one of their cards and taking advantage of the problems in our society. If they paid thugs to attack protesters during the revolution and unleashed the prisons and if reports are true that they were involved in the terrorist attack that killed 20 people in december, they even spied on mubarak so then why would they stop now? Mubarak left but these guys who ran things are still not going out quietly especially knowing how they are gonna be punished. They have tremedous infleunce on people mainly because they understand the common uneducated egyptian and know how to use him to create chaos. Its only yesterday that the head of SS got arrested so we will see what happens. There will be another woman's protest on march 16 I believe and you can bet that this time lots of egyptian men will be there to defend them this time.

I don't understand the strategy in provoking sectarian violence if that is what the old guard is guilty of doing still to this day. Perhaps they want to ensure another heavy handed government bureaucracy to replace the old one; a bureaucracy that they remain in charge of.

Scary thing is it could work. I hope that the new march is more successful with added support from the men.

They don't start shredding unless they think their security is about to be breached. All the letter agencies in the US are probably safe for now and far into the future.

I don't see any signs of a serious threat to the US government. If anything, they are enforcing their control over the people. Americans, for the most part, are feeling absolutely powerless at the moment.

Another big clash in Tahrir very reminiscent of what happened during the revolution with camels and thugs. Protesters are getting attacked everywhere and yeah no one knows why, but the consensus is its the old regime, NDP or SS that are behind these attacks on protesters, coptics, women and abduction of students (no joke) and egyptian artifacts robbed from tombs and museums. Why are they punishing these people? Did they get inspired by what Gadhafi did? They saw how the world didnt do anything when someone was bombing his people, they figured whatever they do will have no consequences? Or is it an act of desperation, to create a civil war in egypt before they leave? I hope these people are caught and we get answers fast. But the police are no where and maybe the culprit and the army still does nothing to stop anything, they might as well be UN peace forces.
