maybe I'm wrong, but I don't think
FEMA works outside of the domestic

i'm sure the idea has been tossed around more than once

Stuart Bowen, the Special Inspector General for Iraq Reconstruction, argues that we need an "international FEMA" to coordinate complex contingency operations across the various agencies of the American government and institutionalize lessons learned.

uh, so i guess i need to stay on topic. the question that now needs asking is ' why did fema cancel the request? was this just a case of miscalculation and over expenditure?

well... i went back and reread the fema disaster preparedness plan and it seems that we the sheeple are already responsible for creating our own food caches(at least 3 days), which is a good thing. so maybe this rfi request was seeming a bit redundant on their part.

these aren't from the examiner
they are from food distributors
corroborating the op and the
feedback in the Beaufort Observer.
The links to find the images
are shown in the images themselves.
No url required I don't think.

Yes Boon..They say supplies are low due to many people buying up big on supplies and the downturn in crop production..

They don't mention the FEMA order..

I guess people are buying up big due to all the dooms day threads on the net..

There probably is a difference between meals ready to eat and bulk dehydrated food. I think the meals have forks and other stuff. I read the request which was cancelled - it had things like chicken and noodles.

Maybe what they are making now is just bulk food to pass out. Everyone would get a ration of beef jerkey and some dried fruit?

Anyway, just because you didn't see a large bid doesn't mean they aren't doing it. They like to chop these things up into smaller bids or piggyback on other contracts.

When I first heard about this I was thinking: "Does FEMA know something we don't?" That is a natural first response. It was a strange conspiracy theory. Perhaps something truly staggering is going to happen in the next 12 months? Perhaps 2012 is real?

But, when I thought more about it I remembered: There is galloping food-prices. FEMA gets more food for the money now then they will likely get at a later point. They know they have to make this investment, and they know the price of the investment is going to rise. Thus, they have to buy it now?

Was going to make a post regarding this but found this through search. Video referencing the purchase:

Any day....any day now it seems. Will be buying more ammo this weekend cause when this DOES eventually pop off....well we will be living in some very troubled times I am afraid
TPTB best hope that they built their bunkers deep and strong enough with all of the money that they STOLE from the worlds citizens cause hey....if I may borrow a phrase from those very same rat bastages...never let a good crisis go to waste right?

The only problem I have with the video is that it does not source where the information came from, yes it has the FEMA logo in the upper right hand corner but it could have been anywhere even the same source as in the op.

Hmmmm...I think that the dude DID mention where that article was sourced from. Watching something else at the moment (and my damn sound card on my HP Pavillion laptop went out but I can watch youtube vids off our Tivo at home, but like I said we presently got something else playing) but I will check back on it but maybe try to give it another listen as I think he said it came from....oh wait here (I just went to the youtube link itself and found this under the description):

www.youtube.com... ated-food%23ixzz1Eu6u9SxU&session_token=qJMPoTOCylV0crVmk6m_hMLm2Ap8MTI5OTIwMjU1NA%3D%3D

Not sure if that above link makes sense but basically it was featured here:

www.examiner.com...

Not sure if that is a reputable source or not

Yeah that seems to be the only source it came from, it may be sensationalism based on the excitement over the 14 million meals ordered a while back which was probably canceled when nothing too terrible happened.

I really dont know but that may be the case.
