I had always wondered if it was my clock or the ATS clock was wrong because my posts were always about 8 minutes slow, so i went to www.time.gov
to check the american atomic clock (precise within .4 seconds)

and i found out that my clock was right and the ATS clock was wrong

We MUST fix this monstrocity soon! (sarcasm)

Seems to be right on the mark for me, too. I watched the minute tick over and refreshed the page a few times. Not the most scientific of methods, but it is good enough for me!

Yeah the clock above this post works perfectly for me. Just the top right hand corner clock is 8 hours off.
ie::: GMT: 17-7-2004 @ 01:32

Here are a few question trends I've seen recently that could be addressed:

What is that bar under my points for?
Can I change my username?
How do I adjust my time stamp?
Why was my message lost when I hit post reply?
How do I prevent parenthesis from being displayed when I post in ATSNN?
What are the effects of using the ignore button? Does it block posts and U2Us?
Why can't I log in?
What is the text limit on sigs and titles? Why doesn't punctutation show up?
How does my member status change to writer, scholar, and/or fighter?
Why isn't my blog working?
Why am I blocked from this particular forum?

Yet another case for the need of FAQ updates, addressed on this thread

Answer - I guess you solved it yourself - buy anytime you go to edit profile it will always revert back to default, so always remember to change it when you edit something there

The answer was right above your post

Anytime you go into edit profile it automatically reverts back to the default, which is Eniwetok (Where in the hell are these places on the time selections anyways?! lol)

Once you select your time zone save it and get the hell outta there as fast as ya can
- go to a message and you'll see the right time on the time stamps for message posts

The tricky part is that the time in the top-right hand corner will always stay at the owner's time - that clock doesn't change

Hope that helps

What time zone does GMT stand for? Also, how many hours is it ahead of EST? I just want to know if it has the right amount of hours ahead of mine.

GMT=Greenwich Mean Time - Greenwich, England lies on a meridian and its time does not "spring forward" or "fall back" - it is where all time zones are based off of

I'm not sure about the plus or minus factors - I usually just select my time zone....I'm sure if you do a search on "GMT" you'll find something
