An eyewitness who witnessed the fire from the start stated he heard some explosions, then saw a huge green cloud followed by the dark/black smoke:

The eyewitness said he witnessed the fire from the start, he heard explosions, then saw a green cloud followed by pitch black smoke and flames. AT5 reporter's site reports that around 12.45 pm the fire still is raging in full force. "I see the flames hit skyhigh." The area stinks. The fire department reports that there are two sheds on fire: a warehouse where rubber is stored and a shed with cocao. Around 13.00 hours the fire was scaled to GRIP 2.

Video shot from an airplane shows the amount of land covered with smoke:

It's outside of the city. And from the video's it looks as though it's blowing away from the amsterdam area. I also don't see any smoke in the sky above my house so I'm not worried.

Do we have more information on this like what the chemicals are? Is this causing evacuations or have there been any injuries or deaths? I have visited Amsterdam in the past and it was a beautiful city, my prayers are with those in the affected area and to those who may have been involved in the explosions.

For those members int he area, dont take chances good day to catch a ride out of town to vist friends and family in the countryside.

A building with cocoa and a building with rubber. The building with the rubber is still burning at the moment. Small chance of flashover to buildings with other chemicals.

This is good to know, seems with all of the events happening worldwide just now, situations such as these get lost on the forum, but the rubber is toxic, so be careful ok? Let us know what they discover as to how this could have happened. Insurance? Sabotage?
