Ether, the 5th Element. and 2012

I would like to start of by saying I'm not a believer in the whole 2012 end of the world scenario, but it sure seems to be an interesting time to live in, so I keep my eyes open and see what I can learn.

So... I've been reading this thread and something dawned on me that I thought deserves it's own thread.

The part that struck me was this...

Carlos said the emerging era of the Fifth Sun will call attention to a much-overlooked element. Whereas the four traditional elements of Earth, Air, Fire and Water have dominated various epochs in the past, there will be a fifth element to reckon with in the time of the Fifth Sun --- that element is 'ETHER'

and also little later this...

I would suggest it could be manifest as the alignment of charged particles from our solar system (Sun), and our galaxy (Milky Way) surge.

Lets first look at Ether...

It was supposed that the ether filled the whole universe and was a stationary frame of reference, which was rigid to electromagnetic waves but completely permeable to matter. Hooke endorsed the idea of the existence of the ether in his work Micrographia (1665), and other several philosophers of the 17th century, including Huygens, did the same. At the time of Maxwell's mathematical studies of electromagnetism, ether was still assumed to be the propagation medium and was imbued with physics properties such as permeability and permittivity.

Now I know that ether has been "debunked" by this experiment with the "Null" result...

BUT lets look at the other side of the coin...

Some believe in the existence in Ether, and here's one of their experiments....

Another important finding comes out of Harold Aspden's energy of rotation experiment [5].
He spun a permanent-magnet rotor up to its rated speed. He found that if the rotor is brought to rest and spun up again within a minute after stopping, it required only 30 Joules to bring it to the same speed as compared to 300 Joules for the first attempt!
The importance of this experiment is that it strongly points to a medium that is affected by the first spin and which in turn affects the second spin.
The most plausible explanation lies with a medium like the aether in which one can imagine the first spin creating something like an aether vortex (see Inertia section) which persists for a time after the object stops spinning.

Also it will be assumed that the aether extends into the 4th dimension. This is required in order to give a satisfactory explanation for charge and matter formation.

Now what is the 4th dimension?

What will happen when the Galactic center and all aligns on December 2012, and the "ether manifest" like the Mayan elder said might happen, and we end up with a 5th element "Ether" that is connected to the 4th dimension.

Could it be that the "charged particles" could line-up the ether (makes me think of making a magnet when all particles in a rod has to be lined up) and we will be able to manipulate space-time, or

use space-time for interstellar travel? or

We can expect some visitors from another planet, waiting for the Ether to line up so they can travel through space?

Many times things are debunked , because they are beyond the grasp or understanding of those investigating. This ether has always been around, but overlooked ? Aren't scientists trying to understand dark matter and or dark energy? I've always found the concept of nothing to be elusive, yet compelling. In your link to The Mayan Elders, Carlos tries to explain ether as the space between space. Thanks for the thread!!

However I feel it is not so much the effect of our galactic center, but in the area of space that we are currently travelling through. I won't pretend to go into details because I know nothing about this subject.

Perhaps there are clouds of many new elements out there floating in space, and we might happen to pass through some of them over large periods of time? I'm sure the sun would absorb these elements in great quantity and spit them back out in a different form?

I can't get technical because I don't know much about this, but it is interesting to think about. So thanks for the post!

do you have anything worth contributing? it's just as annoying to read about people who complain about people who don't do things the way they want them to. if you are capable of opening a post to a thread, then you are capable of closing the page too. nobody is forcing you to read threads. take it elsewhere please.

This is interesting and warrants further investigation, but I would be interested in any sources you might have that says we are going to allign with the galactic plane?

I read what you wrote and whilst im not too sure whether it is right or wrong I could not help but notice some parallels with the movie "the fifth element".

heres the plot line here from wikipedia for anyone thats never seen or heard of this movie...

Every 5,000 years in conjunction with a planetary alignment, a "Great Evil" appears which attempts to destroy all life in the universe. In 1914, the Mondoshawan (pronounced "Mon-do-SHEE-wan") arrive at an ancient Egyptian temple and retrieve the only weapon capable of defeating the Great Evil, a collection of four stones representing the classical elements and a Fifth Element, which conjugates the other four into life. After taking the weapons as "war is coming" but promising to return, the Mondoshawans present a key to their human confidant, a priest, and tell him to pass it through future generations.

In 2263, the Great Evil appears and destroys a Federated Army battleship as it heads to Earth. As the Mondoshawans return to Earth, they are ambushed by shape-shifting Mangalores, hired by wealthy industrialist and Great Evil ally Jean-Baptiste Emanuel Zorg (Gary Oldman). From the remains of the ambush, Earth scientists recover a portion of the Fifth Element and reconstitute it to create a humanoid woman, "Leeloo" (Milla Jovovich), "the perfect being." Leeloo, terrified of her unfamiliar surroundings, escapes and lands on the flying New York taxicab of Korben Dallas (Bruce Willis), a former major in the Federated Army's Special Forces.

The Diva is killed when Mangalores attack the ship, but Dallas retrieves the Elements from the Diva's body. Zorg arrives, takes a decoy case and leaves a time bomb, which causes the liner's occupants to evacuate. Zorg departs on his spacecraft, but then discovers that his decoy case is empty, and thus returns to steal the real case. He turns off his bomb so that he can have time to search the spaceliner, with only five seconds to spare; but upon its deactivation, a dying Mangalore reveals that he had his own bomb planted with a five second countdown, which destroys the entire ship, killing Zorg and the remaining Mangalores. Dallas, Cornelius, Rhod, and Leeloo escape just in time, using Zorg's spacecraft.

The four return to the temple on Earth as the Great Evil approaches. The group arrange the stones and figure out how to activate them all, but Dallas finds that Leeloo has become disillusioned and unwilling to perform her role because humans seem compelled to war. Dallas confesses his love for Leeloo and kisses her. Realizing that love is worth saving, Leeloo finds the inspiration to release the "Divine Light", causing the Great Evil to become dormant as a new moon in Earth's orbit. The film closes with Dallas and Leeloo making love in the chamber used for her resurrection.

Going back to 'Aether': 2012 is long over but just few days ago I came upon some interesting website. It says that the 'ability to see Aether' is in fact connected to the human genetic code. If you happen to have a certain gene in your DNA then you can see Aether. They say the mutation which created this gene happened back in 20th century and by 2500 half of Earth's population will carry this gene.
