Not sure if you were replying to my post, but I will state my case either way- IMHO We should all be concerned and care about the events going on (seismic and otherwise). What ever happens to the delicate web affects all of us because we are all connected. This thread has brought my rage to the surface as well, I live in NY where horizontal drilling is in moratorium set to run out on July 1st, vertical drilling is still allowed thanks to a loophole left in the bill signed by the lame duck.

We all ought to take notice, The quest for oil and its derivatives has left a trail of deceit, corruption and pain whereever it has gone.

Hope I dont get a paw-smack for being a little off topic, I tend to believe this is relevant to the situation.

The problem is trying to correlate weekends, I looked into it, is that they will work a lot of weekends. They go by the progress in drilling and there's lots of overtime because you don't shut it down in the middle of drill.

Although a good idea. It's fruitless.

You're right on the money. You have to get politically active and stop fracking. They will poison your water. Stop them.

ABSOLUTELY

There was a part of the film that covered meeting regarding the New York/Delaware River Basin Watershed rights to drill . Its a huge source of unfiltered drinking water for something like 15.6 million people.

After the Environmental board meeting, the chairman called a press conference. Not ONE single person from the media showed up. No One, there were 30 people standing on the steps with microphones, and not a single reporter there to hear what they had to say about protecting that water source.

Wow!! I can't believe the amount of activity Greenbrier has seen today already!

I haven't been on this thread since last night and theres already 10 new pages.

I'm concerned with this frequency and THEY'RE BIGGER THAN YESTERDAY

Don't think it's SOLELY from fracking folks... Think it's something BIGGER...

Think it's a whole lot of different factors. I'm back to watching the seismic activity live and waiting for Kathy427 and Derek to report in

I'm surprised there was any compensation at all. Most of western Nevadas water is too contaminated to drink due to cyanide that is used in Gold mining and they were told to live with it.

Some of the compensation came in the form of providing them with non contaminated drinking water. They built filtering cisterns, gave them 500 gallon containers and truck in fresh water and fill them for the families. But these are just the ones that have sued. You really have to see the film.
Besides I fear I am derailing the thread.

Back on topic.

The important thing to note here is not the proximity BUT HOW CLOSE TO ALMOST THE EXACT SPOT keeps having the same rumbles. That is NOT good.

You're not derailing the thread.

Our focus is on the earthquakes, fracking, deep well injection disposal, the geology of the Mississippi River Plain and the New Madrid Fault, water, the moon, and the earthquakes of 1811/12. We are also getting witness descriptions from people in the area. That's great. And we are posting research to support the claim that this is probably from fracking, and most definetly from well injection. Injection is proven to cause quakes.

I'm thinking about volcanic activity, but haven't reached a conclusion. If you know my views from reading my stuff on Yellowstone, you know I'd point a finger at a volcano if I could. I think it's valid to bring the subject up. Because the major fault is thought to be a rift. And rifts are volcanic. I'll come back to it.

Do you get the feeling the media is downplaying the story?
Or do you think they're being lulled into apathy by the officials?

Edit to say, by my rough count, since this flurry began on the 15th, there has been about 115 quakes of varying magnitudes. Of course the lists provided by the USGS do not have all the smaller ones on it. Even the ones from the 15th have yet to show up.

I do love On demand ffwd.

Haliburton, Chesapeak, Encana, WIlliams and Cabot Oil and Gas were all named specifically.

A few things:

We have another incoming flare.

We have just has a M6.6 flare from the Sun Source

Yesterday the USGS had on Their list the 3.8 as being significant. Today, this quake has been removed and the 4.3 has been put in it's place - no mention of the 3.8 or the 4.0. Source on top on the right hand side.

They had better hope there isn't a unknown magma chamber where They are drilling. Add Pressurized Diesel Fuel or the like to a magma chamber and it will blow this earth right out of orbit. --- And They want to do this near Yellowstone ---- as Robin said = insane!

I have been following all the fracking, earthquake, and volcanoe threads for last couple months very intently.

I wish the best to all those who are aware and doing there best to engage in what is considered "the right thing" to do. My thoughts, prayers and best wishes to all!

I live in MB, Canada, and am going to be protesting and raising hell over the 300 new fracking wells going to be drilled in SW MB.

Yes, the media is starting to take notice. It's hard to ignore buildings shaking and a large group of residents alarmed and blaming the drilling. But most of the reports are cursory. They don't get into detail and some avoid the topic of fracking and just list the quakes. The best report has been from the NY Times.

But all the reports fail to do enough research. Because they all miss the scientific proof that deep injection wells cause earthquakes. Someone post the Colordo research again, I don't have it handy. Man, I'm sloppy.

But here's the NY Times article.
