My personal theory of what will happen

First, I'm no expert of predicting what will happen in 2012. This is just how I see things unfolding and what I would offer as advice.
First, and saying this with a very straight face, if it's going to happen, it's going to happen. Nothing anyone on this planet can do about it, so make your peace with whatever God your worship, and what happens...happens.
On the other hand, I think two other (but related) possibilities are very possible. One is, people are going to start getting really desperate as that date draws closer, and with the media reminding us of everyday about it, that's not going to help but stir the flames. People will think they need to steal,loot, and commit acts of violence, (because after all, the world's going to end, so there's no consequences for your actions).
On the other hand, I think those same acts will happen, people becoming more and more desperate, acting out, etc....but maybe not the majority of the population Lets say even a third of the U.S. population acts in such a way (the criminal element), the other 2/3's(you and I) have to protect ourselves, your families, your property. I would suggest being prepared to do that. Not go looking for trouble, but just be ready to keep yourself safe, and take care of those that are important to you. I'm not advocating violence in any way, but I think the element in our society that only thinks of themselves, will think nothing of taking what they want if you have it, and don't have the means to protect yourself. No matter how big and bad you are, believe me when I say there's always someone bigger and badder that will no think twice about taking what they want if they think they can get away with it.
In a nutshell.....If it happens, it happens, make your peace, and see you on the other side.
But whether it does or doesn't happen, I feel that certain people will start getting really stupid and try to take what isn't theirs to take. Protect yourself, be aware of your surroundings and what's going on around you, prioritize what's really important to you (family, shelter, food)....just my two cents.

So, in other words, nothing will happen and people will be acting crazy because media will be reminding it all the time. Have I understood it right?

Well, I think people will be doing this whether something will happen or not. They do not know, we do not know.

But still, I thought you were going to say something about Nibiru,Pole shift, solar flares,aliens or anything else. That sounds like you were saying that we people will bring the apocalypse by looting, killing,etc. even though there will be no other apocalypse mentioned above.

I know what you mean.

Before Y2K some ignorant people got together in a place and killed themselves for the fear of not wanting to see how the world ends.

I don't think violence, looting, etc will happen as much as you might think though.

But at the end no one knows what the future will bring us, preparedness is not a bad thing.

I have to agree with whyshouldItrustyou2619, and I don't think this means they simply don't believe, on the contrary, they wouldn't even be here if they didn't, I myself do not know what theory I believe is closest to what will happen, I know I believe what the bible says about the end time's, and we have front row seat's friend's, But that's not the subject at hand, I took this as advice to just be ready to protect yourselves from people who are going to flip out, it's inevitable, and Y2K didn't concern me as much as this does.

Am gonna be that terrible person that says the obvious thing ...

I expect around 2012 my blood alcohol level will be slightly elevated, and I'll be on top of a hotel or something. I may also be wearing a large hat which would be a fashion travesty cos my hair is pretty great.

But yes if things happen they happen.

I don't care how bad or crazy someone thinks they are, if they come up on my property, which is like a fortress already, that will be their worst choice ever and will be a epic fail.

I don't think nothing will happen, but from Katrina experience, I have enough renewable engery, food, ammo, to last for at least a year or so, plus I live in the country and have installed a hand water pump source and have my perimeter leveled out with solar powered cameras.

Good luck to whomever comes to meet Mr. Mossberg. I will have rock salt at first cause I do not want to hurt nobody, but once I give a warning, then rock salt, if they show more aggression it will be time for the no.2....

But too many people have guns out here and I will try to help people depending on the situation.

But like I said, I can't guarantee nothing will happen, but I dont see nothing happening on the exact day of the date of 2012, maybe a few suicides across the world and this forum will implode lol.

I'm hoping to be partying near some certain Mayan ruins (Telum) in Cozumel on December 12, 2012... There is quite a big party planned there I here... Can you imagine Carlos & Charlie's on that date? I wouldn't be surprised if an orgy broke out in the bar!

Seriously though, I'm hoping we can plan a trip for around that time.

Travel to a nice location would be an excellent choice. There is no evidence of anything happening in regards to 2012. Planning a trip to an interesting location sounds like a good choice.

Well that's about like saying, people will blame their actions on the 'expectations' of what 2012 might become.
