If you havent already watch this lecture, i recomend you to do so.

Dr. Russell Blaylock explains one of the most important connections between nutrition and our health- how nutrition affects our behavior. Citing a series of important studies, he shows that good nutrition can powerfully enhance our memory, mood, and behavior in a socially desirable way. Like wise he shows us that poor nutrition can lead our youth into a world of violence, crime, depression and suicide. By using an impressive array of studies on both juvenile and adult prisoners, Dr. Blaylock demonstrates these principals and outlines specific measures you can take to protect your children from these detrimental effects. Most importantly, he shows us that it is never too late to make these nutritional changes.

Russell L. Blaylock, MD is a retired neurosurgeon and author. He is a former clinical assistant professor of neurosurgery at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and is currently a visiting professor in the biology department at Belhaven College. He is the author of a number of books and papers, including Excitotoxins: The Taste That Kills (1994), Health and Nutrition Secrets That Can Save Your Life (2002), and Natural Strategies for Cancer Patients (2003), and writes a monthly newsletter, the Blaylock Wellness Report.

Good post op, It is very simple actually.. Eat healthy, Look healthy , Feel healthy, Be healthy..Or Eat unhealthy, Look unhealthy , Feel unhealthy..Should we even question this.? It truly is quite simple. I don't need to watch a lecture for that.

Yes! There is most certainly a direct brain/gut relationship. Who would have thought. We find ourselves concentrating in schools on each organ, process, bone, cell type, etc...and how they work separately. Kind of complicates things. You are what you eat, think, drink etc...physically, mentally, emotionally, spiritually. Suggestion: research our origins....are digestive system screams herbivore. Food For Thought: Mother Nature...Gaia....Mother Earth w.e. you wish to call her...it... has given all we need to combat sickness and to live and prosper. Even diseases, bacteria and viruses among other things that man has created. We seem to forget the fruits and vegetables as we call them she has given to us. We bulldoze and kill them to construct a meat market....disgusting.

There's a saying my personal trainer told me when I used to go the gym: "Your body is like a engine, if you don't fuel it properly you're not going to get anywhere."

KISS...Keep It Simple Stupid. Pay no mind to the MSM and their propaganda you hear on the news. One day this does that next month it does something else. Moderation is key in any diet. Pay no mind to trolls who concentrate on protein/carbohydrate ratios. And try to break down a diet into pyramids and percentages. Essentially we are all the same...but mechanically in a individual sense foods, herbs and such effect psyches differently for the individual. It comes down to the self. Self-preservation, selfishness, self-thought. Health is universal idea. With that said each component of our nature is part of health. You must look beyond the premise of food. As a trainer myself i see to many others of the same occupation misleading people with disinformation. A key component(s) people leave out is sauna therapy and detoxification. Detoxification is a huge part of keeping pristine. Master Cleanse, detox baths, teas. Think about the skin....our biggest organ. Also embrace the magic of essential oils.

Great post!

Just so happens I started a gluten free diet last week. I have had some weird problems my whole life with blood sugar, reflux, asthma, fatigue, etc... and after years of trying to figure it out, it dawned on me recently that I felt the worst after eating bread.

After I stopped eating anything with wheat in it, day by day I started to feel better. It's kind of a pain avoiding it, but given that I feel so much better, it's worth it.

Try this...spend the money and get yourself a nice juicer. Juice up fruits(orange, apple, kiwi, starfruit) and veggies(cucumber, zucchini, carrot, bell pepper) then blend them with the frozen berries, peaches, rhubarb, frozen papaya concentrate etc. Add water as needed. Frozen wheat grass shots or wheat grass in general added to the above has amazing benefits and can account for up to 3 meals from a person who follows the 6 meal day. Majority of people...mostly in America are gluttons. Your body doesn't need as much as you're eating. Too many people eating empty calories, trying to count calories but ingesting horrible preservatives, artificial and processed sugars...we all know about aspartame. List goes on.

Gluten can be a real bad irritant for a lot of people...especially in the 60+ age group. You find it in quite a few odds and ends products other than bread as well. I'm glad you found that out so many live their lives with that problem and it can be a large burden if not recognized. Most certainly lead to all sorts of other bodily problems. That's only the beginning of how you could feel. And often their as simple as what you found out. These things are hard to avoid. The majority of the food in supermarkets is highly toxic to us....ingredient wise. They are slowly but surely killing us...not before dumping $ from usually mid 40s on into some sort of pharmaceutical. That DRUG will cause other problems and be completely unnecessary. Problem is people are a ton more inclined to pop a pill than change their lifestyle and eating habits(which is lifestyle). It's a shame...really.

For an independent verification, all you have to do is look at all the soda and candy machines in our schools and link it to 20% or more of our kids on Ritalin!

reeve the kid up on sugar, restrict his exercise and then be SO SURPRISED when he can't sit still?

Our society is brain dead some times.

I had the exact same problems. Cut out the sugar and startch (bread) and I feel the best I have in years. At sixty I have more energy then I had at thirty!

Also dropped my blood pressure from 170/140 to 115 /70!

Now if I eat any grain I get reflux that night.

Spot on.

And half the people who get diagnosed with add or adhd are just more active than others.
but the doctors earns money on there visit, and the pharmacies earns money on them.
sick sick society
