I forgot to add this one. Some songs sound good with a piano.

Going to bed now. I'll post more stuff later. Your contributions are always welcome here.

Man, this is heaven for me lol

Metal is my life. No idea why someone brought up Otep or Pantera though as fitting with this thread, far as I know Otep sings about her own abuse etc and Phil brings in stuff from his life like having a good time or some dude trying to start a fight over his idiot of a son heckling Phil.

I love how Slayer have a Christian vocalist/bassist but thanks to Kerry King they have songs against religion and God. Nice start although being a metal fan, you know that already.

Try "The God That Failed" by Metallica, it's not heavy like the songs in the thread so far but it is about Hetfield's questioning of religion after his strict Christian Science upbringing

Can't recall if they have songs about religion but try Mistress if you haven't already, the singer in that Dave was the original singer of Napalm Death before he left and Barney came in (both local bands, I even helped clean up the old Mistress rehearsal room in a previous job)

Good call on the Deicide stuff though, I have the Scars of the Crucifix album somewheres

Since you like Septic Flesh, listen to Rotting Christ. An excellent band from my Hometown. Since you like Symphonic you definately going to like them.

Peace

Otep is alright. I've never liked Metallica or Slayer that much though. I'm only into modern metal. The oldest metal I'll ever listen to is mid to late 90s metal.

I've never liked Rotting Christ that much. I found them a few years ago on iTunes when I was music hunting. I probably know of tons of different bands since I'm always searching the internet for them. I have 50 GB of nothing but death/black metal and industrial in my iTunes library and I keep adding more lol. Now my goal is to reach 100 GB.

Some say that I’m a c**t, the godless deceiver
They’ll never change my ways, I’m born and bred a heathen
Some say that I’m a liar, but I never lied to myself
Some say that I can’t see, well I know that I’m blind
Drunk on the blood of angels
All right

I don’t believe in your wrong and right
And I get the urge to walk at night

And I don’t believe in your god above
And I don’t believe in your tales of love
Can you hear me?

I’d rather reign in Hell, than serve your god
Don’t wanna be chained to your cross
I’m not ashamed to be white
Paying penance to fools is a waste of my life

I am my own God
Master slave and I will be beyond the grave
No one will take my soul away
I carry my own will and make my day

I am my own God
See the truth beyond
Through endless lies thy kingdom come
Glorified wisdom illumination tool
Self deceit it's the golden rule

Live your life you're gonna die your own death
There's no one above that's gonna take your breath

May the evil drown in its source

I dip my forefinger in the watery blood
Of your impotent redeemer
And write over his thorn torn brow
The true Prince of Evil

What man's created
Man can destroy
Bring to light
That day of joy

Punk rock is a far more interesting arena for attacking Religious Control Addicts. Metal has no irony, no real sense of humour, and more importantly, no discernable chords.

That's your opinion. I hate punk rock. I've never liked it.

This is Pagan oriented Black/Death Metal with symphonic elements, according to the band's description.
