Like I said the last time someone pointed out abnormalities in this magnetosphere display, there is a huge difference between an abnormality in the
outer field lines and one in the spheroid of inner field lines. The inner bunch of lines is the earth's core...the outer lines are the magnetosphere
as it extends into space. There is nothing wrong with twisting and bending field lines beyond the surface of the earth. As long as the lines exist out
there, it doesn't matter what they look like or where they go.
What would/will be noteworthy is if the inner spheroid of field lines becomes chaotically entangled for an extended period of time, clumps of blue
and/or red appear in the wrong hemispheres, the number of field lines begins to noticeably diminish (which we would visibly notice, what with the
global auroras it would cause and whatnot), and, ultimately, the blue/red hemispheres switch altogether. This is what people should be looking for.
