Canada geese killed to improve aviation safety

New Yorkers won't have to worry about the green droppings of close to 1,600 Canada geese this year, after wildlife officials rounded them up and gassed them last summer in an effort to improve aviation safety and keep public spaces looking beautiful.

i hunt and what not but i don't really find it ok to gas 1600 birds because there in a no fly zone.
they were here first.
maybe other bird deaths are related?

Geese fly in huge formations at altitudes in which only light, relatively slow aircraft fly in.
If you're getting into accidents ramming your plane into huge flocks of geese, you deserve it for being a moron and maybe it's a sign somebody should look into the requirements necessary for pilot licenses to be issued.

As for the aesthetic issue, Have you seen Upstate NY? Let me tell you, goose # is the LEAST of their worries... Maybe they should consider gassing people that don't pick up after their dogs, I mean, at least they can be held accountable for it.
