Google Inc. executive Wael Ghonim, released from detention by Egyptian state security Monday night, became the face of the country’s online youth movement after he conceded to creating a Facebook group that helped amass thousands of people for the antigovernment protests rocking Egypt in their third week.

I would attribute more to dis-satisfaction of the Egyptian people coupled with a growing influence via mass media sites of muslim extremists.
But then again, Obama could be behind it. I wouldn't put it past him.

Google got involved in a cause?!....Well, Thats never happend before...

That's like saying that the United States is behind bigfoot because ATS has threads about it.

Ghonim's group was created well after the revolution was in full swing in Egypt. The factors leading up to the situation there are well understood, and it's quite clear that these events were not caused by Facebook or Google. Social networking and modern communication and collaboration resources have certainly facilitated what's going on there, but they are the means to an end, not the cause. The online side of the revolution was created by the revolutionaries, not the other way around.

Google/Gov. two different face of same coin..And let me remind you have to be part of a Regal club to achieve what google have in past few years..

If U.S Gov. can use Google proxy to attack china, why can't they use its employees..

What a guy. He works for an American company and is married to an American girl but hates the U.S. saying that he would 'never move to the United States', homeland of his wife. He started a revolt that gives the U.S. the green light to invade, er, I mean "provide security." Next we'll see Mubarak hiding in a hole before being captured by U.S. troops then sent to the gallows only to pave way for the next puppet election to take place.

I remeber ages ago Mcdonalds was accused of supporting the IRA when it was in power, Maybe it was, Doesnt matter.

The fact Is Google is a multinational Company that Of-Course has Influence and gets involved in a lot of things, Does that mean its a Government front to control the world?...Nope, Im quite sure (from past experience) That The U.S Government would do what they wanted despite the consequences Directly and with lots of news coverage because they want to look Big for the rest of the world they bully

That's the point: they cannot do what they want with the rest of the world, because now their enemies, or competitors, are strong. Yes, they still are predominant over NATO and the G20 organization, but there is the G77 and the Russian-Chinese bloc, which has ties to quite a few strong socialist Latin American countries. This would explain why they would fall back to such kind of electronic black-ops (Google) as a supplemental support for influencing -or overthrowing- regimes abroad.

And that would give a whole new meaning to China's censorship of Google... they've got some of the world's best IT experts, who know exactly how Google works and is managed. Why, if Google indeed is an undercover tool of NATO, would they allow it to corrupt their society from within, like MTV, Coca-Cola or MacDonald's did in the past, but to an even deeper and efficient scale?

But anyways, yes, it's just assumptions. Still no proof here, and given it's FauxNews, this could be another trap....

Firstly you havent provided any proof, Secondly the Post was Relavent and was used to Ellaborate or otherwise reinforce my posts.

Maybe you should headline the thread "Google is behind eygpt revolt- Heres proof" Because you certainly neither have any proof of anything else or a direct link to the US in general been behind anything
