updates on Paul's story

After about 30 minutes of multiple seizures an ambulance was called and Paul was taken to a New Orleans hospital. According to his parents, this will be the 15th hospital he will have visited in a seemingly endless search for answers to what they (and many) believe is a bp spill related poisioning.

"My parents throughout the summer had told me not to get in the water," said 22-year-old Paul Doom. Still Doom said he spent a lot of time last summer swimming in the Gulf of Mexico off Navarre Beach where he lives. Today, Doom has no feeling in his left leg and suffers with seizures daily.

He said, "in July, I started getting really bad headaches and internal bleeding. I would have nose bleeds and what not daily." Doom said doctors haven't been able to give him answers. Worried he could have been impacted by the Gulf oil disaster, he traveled with his family from Florida to New Orleans for a forum on the issue.

I really can't feel sorry for that guy swimming in the gulf despite being warned, it should've been obvious to any thinking person that it would be dangerous. This is evolution in action.. he should've listened to the 'crazies', now he's paying the price.

Not taking anything away from this horrible disaster though, the criminals responsible should be executed.. not holding my breath for that though. The people will keep taking it in the ass time after time.

We may not feel sorry for him but if he has contracted something then the fish have also and with the Government pushing their employees and service men to eat more Gulf seafood to ease Public alarm then we have a problem.

Herring and menhaden are harvested by the ton in the Gulf still and being ground up and used for Organic fertilizer and Chicken feed and shipped all over the country. You don't have to be in the Gulf to be affected by this quite the contrary it's going to affect us all no matter how far away we live from there.

S&F OP this is something we can't afford to let BP sweep under the rug. This is going to have environmental impacts for generations to come.

It's already swept under the rug.. see how much people care about this, they don't.
The plebs will rush to the defense of their aristocrat masters and anyone talking about it will be labelled a cook or conspiracy theorist.

I'll not be directly affected since I'm on the other side of the globe.

Sometimes you just have to hate humanity, it's hard not to succumb to misanthropy if you're an aware and empathic human in this horrible world where up is down and left is right..

I am directly affected by it since I am a commercial fisherman. the Captain was just talking today about going back over to the Gulf which I stated i wanted no part of.

I succumbed to Misanthropy Looooooong ago. I remember being around 12 and thinking that if there was a button I could push that would wipe the entire human race off the earth instantaneously including myself that I would push it without a 2nd thought.

Yes his parents were warning him...He's young & I do feel sorry for him... I read somewhere (sorry will have to find the article) that he was training for the Marines...& we have our government saying everything is safe...swimming in the waters & eating the seafood...I wouldn't but maybe he maybe there was gov influence.
Just a thought...

As if the oil volcano was not bad enough, and I wonder if it is still leaking gooo out, the USA government allowed BP to dump billions(or trillions) of gallons of corexit to make the oil sink and make the clean up easier because they would have to clean up much less that way.

The problem is it was handled from a PUBLIC RELATIONS POINT OF VIEW rather than actual cleanup! That means they SACRIFICED OUR LONG TERM HEALTH so the government and BP would not look incompetant and overworked. If the oil volcano was as bad as some hush-hush artists said over 1 million BARRELS(not gallons) per day it would be almost impossible to collect that much oil unless every single tanker was called in disrupting world trade and costing tax payers much, much, much more than what it cost us now.

When it comes to conserving the enviroment and protecting peoples livelihood and health, no dollar/no person/no ship/no politician/no corporation should be spared BUT we dont live in a world of common sense. THAT is what people routinely forget! We live in a world of "money talks and bs walks"..."I want more dividends from my portofolio"...."I want to remain president of the USA NO MATTER WHAT"..."I want to remain as president of BP". In other words the end justifies the means and the end is TO SAVE YOUR ASS ONLY!

BP knew corexit was banned in most countries because of its extremely toxic attributes yet in the USA it was allowed and Barack Obama not wanting to create any waves with the corporate elite gave BP the ok to do as they please without declaring a national emergency. Ironically enough it was ok to create a national emergency for the avian flu that never materialised because there was no political cost assumed with that decision!

In a true democracy or a true republic, the USA president would have been impeached while the board of directors of BP and the Deparment of Minerals overseer ALL would have sent to jail to do some hard time probably in a maximum security facility. That is what they deserved in my opinion and oh "dont drop the soap because undersexed inmates want some........
" Politicians do not deserve any immunity when proven guilty or even assumed guilty by their actions.

Do you honestly think its a coincidence no congressman/congresswomen or President/VP, no corporate CEO has EVER done time? When should we start? They had no trouble sending illinois governor blagocevic so why not go higher????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????? Yeah I am pissed because I want some #in justice for a change. If we have a constitution we might as well use it or just tear it apart and create a new one! Seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that many of us to not trust the government to tell us the truth, but unfortunately not every one is aware of this fact yet.

June 16, 2010 "I'm announcing a comprehensive, coordinated and multi-agency initiative to ensure that seafood from the Gulf of Mexico is safe to eat." President Obama said, during a press conference in Gulfport, Mississippi Monday. "So let me be clear. Seafood from the Gulf today is safe to eat."

They were telling people the water was fine so that the tourists would not cancel their reservations.

I do feel sorry for the guy. It is tough to say he should have listened to "the crazies". The Media bombards people with propaganda daily. The Media continued to tell everyone the water was safe. The Government told everyone the water was safe. Even the President of the United States told everyone to eat the seafood, and the water was safe. Prior to your awakening, if you had a choice to listen to me or the President of the USA, who would you think was more credible? The average non awakened person does not stand a chance.

And here we have what is essentially a kid. I know I was not awake at the age of 22, though I did have questions. However jumping into water that was contaminated with oil and Corexit seems like common sense to me, the media again played up an angle that Corexit was not being used and the water was safe. It is a lot to overcome to see the truth and make the right choices for yourself. If you can not break the literal programing of your mind that begins in the Public Schools at a nice young age, your pretty well doomed.

So I do feel sorry this kid, this is a tough way to learn that you have been lied to your whole life.

Well, I was young and dumb once too and did too many things my parents told me not to. So, yeah I don't think he deserves all of his health problems; it makes me sad for him and his parents. I'm sure he won't get any real help or compensation from BP and they will just be another big corporation that gets away with what they do all the time. Really, really sad and unfortunate and preventable.
