Short introduction - New member

My boyfriend and I often spend a few hours a day 'lurking' on this site, and discussing what we read, so I thought I'd become a member and occasionally share my opinions.

I don't consider myself to be an expert on any of the topics on ATS, but you could say I have been influenced since living with my boyfriend and have developed a keen interest.

I am 18, currently studying journalism - despite this, however, I am very interested in the effects that the mass media have on society, such as conditioning and 'mind control' as well as other theories...

I do not intend to become part of the main stream media, but I cannot deny my love of writing.

I look forward to posting!

i thought journalism died long time ago ... isnt it just reporting now ? or repeating like david icke says lool.

Yes i think the future generations of journalism will come back to there roots and what makes journalism tick ! the actual investigations from chasing 100 leads to find only 1 is worthy of reporting !

No there is journalism...Then there is media...BIG DIFFERENCE! Journalism is suppose to uncover the truth no matter the cost and expose it. Reporting (the media) is all about finding the truth and hiding it.

I have learnt that there are a lot of perceptions of what journalism is or isn't.
I find it hard to believe many things I read these days, because I have seen first hand how easy it is to bend the truth, make things seem worse or better than they actually are, in order to gain readership.

You won't find an honest reporter/writer in the main stream media anymore because it is no longer a priorty to bring news to the masses. Its a priority to make sure you only read what they want you to read.

And it's sites like this that provide alternative news, sites that provide multiple sources and opinions so you can make up your own mind, that are running the MSM into the ground and they don't like it one bit.
