Being a devout metalhead for the last 20 years and with a band of my own I can safely say that metal is one of the most expressive genres of music ever. Yes there are some bands with a 'satanic' bent, like quite a few black metal bands but for the most part it's just imagery that goes with the music.

Iron Maiden are gods among men. Plain and simple. I've had the incredible fortune of actually meeting them and they're the humblest and most polite guys I've ever met. Quite amazing for such an iconic band that has acheived pretty much everything there is to acheive.

What makes bands like Maiden and Priest so great is that they give real hope to people. Maiden's lyrics are some of the best out there. Highly intelligent and though provoking. In short they tell you the truth about things without the BS. Priest lyrically are all about fighting the good fight and feeling good about yourself. They make you feel like a million bucks even on your worst day. That's something no damn religion or bearded guy in the sky can even come close to.

I've been to many metal festivals like Wacken for example and there's just no better feeling in the world. 80,000 people chilling out, having a good time. No one cares where you're from, what religion you are, how much money you make, what your skin colour is blah blah blah. Everyone's like one big giant family.

And the outside world thinks THEY know better. Yeesh!!!!

We're all going to hell anyways if the bible is to be believed, no matter what we do anyways, so why not have some fun rocking out to Iron Maiden???

Which is exactly what I'll be doing in just over 2 weeks in Brisbane!!!

I totally agree! That is so awesome you had the honor of meeting Iron Maiden! I've been a fan since I first gave Brave New world a listen (tho most everything they've done is f*cking amazing), and finally last summer had the pleasure of chanting in the crowd for their 'Final Frontier' tour (great album). When we were leaving the auditorium, there were some fellas waiting outside holding, 'Turn your life over to Jesus,' signs; what is really ironic about it is that Niko McBrain (drummer) is a Christian.
All the best, and up the Irons!!

Damn, lucky you. I was hoping they'd come to India for the Final Frontier tour but they skipped us sadly

Oh well, I saw them at Wacken last year and they were spectacular. Bruce, for his age, is nothing short of awe inspiring.

Haha yeah that's pretty funny. There was a local pastor here a few years ago preaching about how rock music is the devil's music and he holds up a poster of Stryper. Epic lol.

Up the Irons m/ m/

I have one more but didn't have a pic taken of it for some odd reason.

I have more but now is not the time to present them. If you are able to look at my media page they are there but that's a bit tricky from what I understand. I can't seem to get a link for the picture page so whatever.

Music has charms to sooth a savage breast, to soften rocks, or bend a knotted oak.
William Congreve

In other words, I hear ya.Watching the clips in Flight 666 with all those wild and crazy audiences - especially South America - or Rush In Rio with thousands going nuts singing to the instrumental YYZ give me big time chills. All those people there just to hear some music. It's quite boggling the effects some bands have had on millions of people over the years, and the response from the fans sometimes is beyond fanatical.

John Lennon once said The Beatles were bigger than God(or was that Rod? No, that was the Rutles, silly me)I'd bet that if one had the Pope tour the world, free to see, and Iron Maiden came along a week later in all those same cities, free to see, Maiden would draw more people.

Maiden puts on a better show, it's no contest!

Seriously, Iron Maiden is almost a religion nowadays. One could have many worse influences IMHO, the Pope included. At least Iron Maiden fans aren't out killing the Judas Priest fans just because they dig a different band. Can't say that about religion, eh?

I own the "Live After Death" CD. Awesome import that I found dirt cheap in a CD store.

I had the pleasure of seeing them live during that tour, the music was great but the visuals were amazing. The only band I ever saw with a better stage show was Supertramp.

Ive been a Maiden fan since i heard the tape Live After Death, these days i like my Melodeath Metal, In Mourning any one?

Anyway good to see Maiden have made it to the front page of ATS, they dont have anything to do with the NWO, Derrick Riggs and co know about them but do not practice what they preach.

On a side note, my mate was in the UK, hes a massive Iron fan, the pub he was in was a nice english country pub, sitting a few tables down was one Steve Harris, he was on his own having a quite pint.

My mate being a fan wanted to go and buy him a drink and say hello but he also respected his privacy so my mate and his wife sat for an hour with Steve Harris just across the room, its a fans dream.

Anyhoo, matie went up to the bar to get another pint, the landlord and him started talking about Maiden and the landlord said that its his local but he did ask not to disturb him.

Can you imagine being a fan and having an idol right in front of you and not being able to do anything about it ?

Harris goes up to the bar a little while later to say goodbye to the landlord and as Harris walks out he says hello to my matie and out the door he goes, the landlord comes over with a pint for my mate and a signed coaster from Steve Harris.

Maiden have a huge respect for their fans, they do run a very succesful business but at the end of the day for them its all about the music and the fans.

I clicked the topic and it lived up to the billing...

*sigh*

Awful. Just awful. There are so many quality music threads you could do to link entertainers to the NWO (any Lady Gaga video for example), but you failed greatly.

Uninteresting, unsubstaniated. Did you just pick a random metal band out of a hat? I don't mean to offend OP, but this is just silly. This thread was ill-prepared, badly thought out, and completely useless.

Iron Maiden is exactly as they have been for many, many years. It's nice that you think you've captured some sort of amazing revelation, though. Like somehow you cracked this code that no one ever realized until now. It's a joke, friend. They're dark, esoteric, and they rock your freaking face off. haha. Not really much else to see here.

As the late Bill Hicks said:

"They tell us "Rock'n'roll is the devil's music." Well, let's say we know that rock is the devil's music, and we know that it is, for sure … At least he f***in' jams! If it's a choice between eternal Hell and good tunes, and eternal Heaven and New Kids on the f***in' Block … I'm gonna be surfin' on the lake of fire, rockin' out."

I would sooner believe that Justin Bieber is "controlled" by the NWO. I mean seriously, look how fast he rose to fame...and the kid isn't that great of a singer either. But, he does have mass appeal to the young girls. Sounds like a recipe for a conspiracy right there. (Thats sarcasm, google it)

This thread reminds of the bullsnot with Judas Priest back in the 80's when those 2 teens killed themselves while listening to "Better by you, better than me".

Are you insane? They're a BAND. They just use the imagery. It's part of the act. It looks great on stage and in their art. Man seriously do some research or at least get into the band before making such statements. Your life will be infinitely better with some Maiden albums in your collection. Trust me.

Yeah that was beyond ludicrous. It was almost like a Salem witch hunt. Anyway Priest ripped their nuts off with Painkiller.

For 1 i apologised for the video!!! The sound is not important
For 2 i didnt say there was "a devil"
For 3 this is my thread so if you want to carry on acting like you own ATS (you dont) your wasting your time, aslong as im not offensive or obscene then i have just as much right as any1,to post on this site. To say that the images are just there because they look good, or it looks attractive on stage then that just goes to show how brainwashed you are, and if the band is unaware of the "meaning" behind such symbols then that just shows how ignorant they are!!

By endorsing such bands your "Fueling" the situation, just like people who buy "Gaga" or "Britney" you like to think your different but your not, your just another sect just another segment of segregation. Am i saying im any better NO, i went to watch 3 films at the cinema last month, directly funding ignorant celebrities and artists, who capitalise on such symbols and imagery.
End of, go to another thread if your not engaging the "Real" debate, the mass of sheeple in here couldnt even see past the title.

You are far too quick to snap at people. Just calm down. We've shown you plenty of evidence that Iron Maiden isn't controlled by the NWO, and in fact appear to be against it. Maybe they use the symbols to try to raise people's awareness about the symbols? Seems to have worked, wouldn't you agree? When has there ever been anything obvious about the NWO's actions? Never, so I don't think they would start with a band. At the very most, they're trying to raise awareness about it. At the very least, they're using it to catch people's attention. Either way, looks like mission accomplished to me.

You are getting far too upset over this man, your calling people idiots, slagging off our music and getting angry, we are just showing you our opinon thats all.
You really do need to get a grip on reality. your coming across as some kinda child or someone with anger problems.
So all in all they are not nwo, they are a band, you read to much into the artwork and get angry when we reject your opinon....chill man, its metal
