Do You Want To Search The Internet Anonymously?

Hey ATS, I know that many people who visit this site worry about their search history being recorded so I thought I would share this new search engine that I stumbled upon.

It is called StartingPage and is "the worlds most private search engine".

It is no secret that google and other search engines track what users search and the data that is collected can be used against people in certain situations by the DOJ.

The thought behind StartingPage is that no data is collected to begin with. They claim to serve as a sort of middle-man between you and Google that keeps no records or data on their own at all. So even if they were subpoenaed they’d have none of your search data to hand over. And all Google knows is someone made a search from Starting Page, but there’s no way for them to know whose searches are whose.

Of course, in my paranoia, I wonder if this is an NWO website that will collect even more info about me.

how do you get there without using google, or microsoft's internet explorer, either way you're going to get tracked.

They may be able to know that you are using startingpage but they won't know what you have searched that is the whole purpose...

Another alternative is Yauba.com. I switched from Google.com to Cuil.com, but since Cuil.com closed I had to find an alternative to my alternative. Yauba is what came up.

I've quit using Google, they used to be the "hipsters" online but have gone to being a quasi big brother. No thanks!

(Darn shame too, I loved Gmail!)

Well, it says in the OP that StartingPage uses Google, but serves as a "middleman" between you and Google. So without knowing, I would assume that means that StartingPage sorta takes the place of you as far as being the entity that requests and receives the data from Google. StartingPage then serves to you the results. So you, theoretically, are invisible to Google and whichever other shady government organizations with which Google is supposedly in cahoots.
