Bush's Swiss visit off after complaints on torture

I don't know why the article uses uses "alleged torture" in it when Bush himself mentioned in his memoirs he authorised torture but whatever, I understand we should not emulate Bush. United States has, aside from the brief era when Bush was president, always considered waterboarding to be torture and in fact has prosecuted people for it - remember executing Japanese soldiers for waterboarding after WWII?

Maybe someday, he won't be able to even leave Texas. We can always hope!

Already a thread open on this:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

But this article is far better than the one of www.rawstory.com.

"Whatever Bush or his hosts say, we have no doubt he canceled his trip to avoid our case. The message from civil society is clear - If you're a torturer, be careful in your travel plans. It's a slow process for accountability, but we keep going," the Paris-based FIDH and New York-based Center for Constitutional Rights said in a joint statement on Saturday.
