The Germans have a strong and well managed economy from what little I know about it. The Euro is in big trouble and letting in the IMF to Greece has not made matters any better. If the Euro is to survive then better and more cohesive management is needed across the board. There have been a lot of problems with back room deals going on in the establishment of the EU and cleaning up the house sounds like a good idea. If someone is to take the lead they you could do a lot worst than Germany.

Ok so you just told us there is a EU ... anything new?...

Thats what the european union is all about a unified economic grid where the weaker states are controlled by the powerfull ones..

Well, to be honest it doesn't seem to me like the Germans* actually want to pay their taxes to cover nations like Greece, and that seems to be the bottom line.. how Merkel can push that through is another thing.. so as much it may give control to the larger nations like Germany, however the shortfall/bailouts will be picked up by taxing the Germans, and I can't see them wearing that.

*these are people I know and work with, plus articles I read.. so my view is subjective to those inputs.
