Australia's Victoria alert for flash floods

www.theage.com.au

The warning comes as the bureau said large parts of north and north-eastern Victoria would be drenched by up to 220 millimetres of rain from tomorrow and into Saturday as an advancing cold front collides with moisture from ex-tropical Cyclone Anthony and Cyclone Yasi.

WOW, looks like again I don't need to water the lawns..

I hear a lot of the flood waters have subsided up north/NW, so I hope they cope OK with this new rain..

It will really mess with their farming though..
They were hoping for some sun after all the rain to dry out the fields...

My grass has never been so green through summer before...I cant remember the last time I had to mow my lawn through summer every second week.

every other year I used to mow the lawn once a month for a few sporadic weeds if that...everything else was dry and crispy...now its all lush and green!

The rising Bunyip River is expected to break its banks overnight, with flooding also likely to affect nearby Iona, Cora Lynn and Bayles.

The inundation is predicted to be worse than major floods in 1971 and looks likely to rise above 7.2-metres.

Now I think the most amazing thing about this all and is not being report by MSM is this MASSIVE cold front moving onto australia SA coast. Refer to this large satellite image of the southern ocean (right hand side equator is linked to south pole through massive weather system)
