They may be "red-blooded Americans" but they do not have OUR best interests at heart.
News "broadcasters" like Anderson Cooper are replaceable with the snap of a finger. These "broadcasters" are not investigative reporters. Anderson Cooper. like all the others are just there to collect that almighty dollar and boost their public image. A lot of people would kill to have their jobs. They are no martyrs, my friend. They take advantage of natural and man made disasters to boost their ratings, and collect revenue. I saw Anderson on a talk show somewhere, and all he talked about was reality tv shows. What about Katrina? What about BP oil disaster? What about Haiti? In a month from now he'll be more concerned with Kim Kardashian's evening gown than Egypt. They are just TV personas, who put on a suit and makeup and act like they have some intelligence or authority. The way they present themselves is laughable.
Yea, they should have had security; but isn't it much more intriguing to hear about how they were attacked? Look, they have us here talking about it. That's ratings for ya brotha.
It's that greed, it's an evil bitch I tell you.

Come on now, they are just working with the audience that is handed to them. Many people have short attention spans because of the lifestyle we lead; most people can't afford to sit at a keyboard for 6 - 8 hours a day, like a lot of ATS members do. What catches their attention is the BIG story, not the 'Suzy won the spelling bee' story. So what do CNN, etc., sell? The BIG story, of course. And CNN is driven by advertisers. And as long as AC works for CNN ( the advertisers ) he'll do what CNN ( the advertisers ) tell him to do.

Here's proof: a journalist makes an off-color remark on camera. Does he get canned? That depends on how many complaints the advertisers get.

Or did you think CNN had some nice ethics department?

Agrees wit you, just shows how low some members havefallen to in ATS, It certainly does make one wonder why continue to be a member of a site which I have been A member of for quite a while, which in my opinion is going downhill.

Any violence should be condemmed, no matter whom it is against. But I suppose it is oks since the dude whom was attacked, was homosexual so he deserves it in some peoples eyes,

Whoever said that journalism was a safe profession? Perhaps, it is a safe and cushy job for those sitting at the anchor desk and the cozy news room, but the journalists out in the field are tasked with getting information out about some of the most dastardly and inhumane acts imaginable. From brutal and grizzly murders, genocide, open warfare, violent protests, uncovering corruption involving powerful figures, and other departures from normal civil conduct. To put it simply, it is a jungle out there. Intimidation, bodily harm, and death is part of the job. The situation in Cairo has severely deteriorated, and it is in the best interests for any foreigner or journalist to use extreme caution. Order and stability has unraveled, and there is violence and chaos in the streets.

In regards to the Fox News reporters being savagely beaten and hospitalized, I think it was a good thing on their part to downplay the incident as long as they could. The big story is the protests and demonstrations, and the rapid dissolution of order and stability. I know the official statement was that they kept it quite to ensure that other journalists would not meet similar fates. However, I think it was good news judgment on their part, because CNN made Anderson Cooper's assault the news immediately after it happened. Mr. Cooper is not the news or the incident he was involved in, and there was no need to over dramatize what happened to him at the expense of the real story taking place down in Tahrir Square. To be clear, I am not a viewer of Fox News and do not enjoying their intentional skewering of the facts and blatant agenda when covering the news. To be fair though, I think Fox handle this incident better than their counterpart CNN. We must remember that hundreds of people have been killed, and thank goodness none of them were reporters.

`You Will Be Lynched,' Says Egyptian Policeman: First Person

Violence over the past 11 days, much of it in Cairo’s Tahrir Square, has killed as many as 300 people in Egypt, according to the United Nations.

Once reporters feel it is unsafe to gather news and pull out completely, Muburak will begin the clean-up efforts after this ordeal, and that is when disappearances and death will be the commodity. He is under close scrutiny by the international community, and cannot respond as other dictators have done in the past to quell opposition. Muburak needs a complete media blackout to commit his crimes, and is unable to to respond as such as long as the media is there. So, what the reporters are experiencing are the dying gasps of 30 years of authoritarian rule. Perhaps, we can all agree on one thing? Reporters ought to use extreme caution going forward, because it is very dangerous over there.

Once Anderson Cooper got assaulted, I knew it was only a matter of time before Faux News did something to trump Cooper's beating. I wonder how much the network paid the news anchor to instigate a fight and get his ass kicked?

I agree. The MSM always compete with each other despite how bad the reality and situation might be (Egypt in chaos). Its a shame but it is the sad reality. I guess never miss an opportunity? Good old yankee entrepreunership?

Do you know who provided Murdoch's financing?

en.wikipedia.org...

Fred Koch, eh? Brilliant engineer, entrepreneur, and refineries builder.
I always like to see an American success story. Because of his efforts, slobs like us can coast into one of a million gas stations and fill up at will.

So he provided Murdoch's financing? Financing for what? Ruperts' college? His business ventures? What?

I hope you're not trying to make some kind of evil connection here.... consider this: if you could track down the origin of every single dollar that goes into financing an average home, we could all be accused of dancing with the devil at some point.

But what is your point in mentioning this?

Btw, you did know that Rupert Murdoch was a big supporter of Barack Obama, didn't you?

There is a system of money on a larger scale that allows mega businesses to be created, a permission system of sorts. Most people cannot access such permissions, or even apply for them. Such as you and I have to put of x amount of collateral in order to obtain x amount of dollars in the form of financed loan moneys for something such as a business. It could be the best business model in the world with boundless growth potential, but without the right amount of capital behind the venture it will never receive the proper financing in time for it to work. It would take too long to snowball the required capital overtime to make it a success, and therefore the business opportunity, the growth potential, would be lost forever. Lost to someone else who is backed in a much more timely way, a different way. This different way is when a person, or group who are major depositors in a lending institution green light their deposits to cover the major financing for a specified line of credit. Strings attached of course. Strings that are in the form of favors which are certain required behaviors demanded by the lender of the recipient when using the business. Tasks that have to be done, acts that perpetuate the system that allowed for the original accesses to capital to take place. The accesses to major seeds moneys. These favors must be done along the way throughout the recipients life and the duration of the functioning of the major business which through such mechanism is actually controlled by the original lender. The source for the major seed moneys that grew the business rapidly. That is making sure the business facilitates the perpetuating of this current political and economic system. A systems of permissions that is regulated through a permission system to access major amounts of capital.

How this particular snowball of capital was started was John D. Rockefeller was backed by The British Royal family whose bankers are the Rothschild family. Money managers for some of the top elites in the western world, who then fiance opportunities with conditions attached. Loyalty to maintaining the system. The Dutch Royal family, which is basically the same money and power pool ever since the dual monarchy, has the motto "We shall maintain." That all which I have outlined is what it means. Here is how it works. Rockefeller's decedents financed Fred Koch, and Fred Koch financed Murdoch through green lighting deposits through banks to be loaned out under the condition that "We shall maintain." What am illuminating here by stating that? It's a money cult. So statements such as "did know that Rupert Murdoch was a big supporter of Barack Obama," if they are true or not become irrelevant as this is about something much bigger than political ideologies, and that's bigger thing is money itself. Ownership, control of what creates money, what makes it function, and how it is manipulated to maintain the current system of capital flows, it's ownership thereof.

The financing of the average home has nothing to do with all that. A home loan is simply a capital storage facility for those guys, A financial battery that stores economic wealth.

What a bunch of baloney.
The infamous mysterious 'Deep Pockets'.

Try telling that fairy tale to the dozens of dot com billionaires. Try selling that to Mark Zuckerberg or Bill Gates.

I'm not even going to address the rest of your post. It's just absurd.

Thanks for the belly laugh!

First off, don't use that offensive term, especially when you're whining about offensive speech. It's very hypocritical.

Second, nobody cheered the fact that she was shot. Where did you see that? I'm calling you out on that one.

Third, regardless of whether there was offensive speech in the Giffords thread, that doesn't excuse it elsewhere. It's never acceptable to address bad behavior with more bad behavior.
