Society is not so much an illusion as it is a construct. Societies cannot be seen, nor can one take one's pulse. A society is a collectivity of
people, but it is more than that. It is also the matrix of roles, statuses, privileges that define the way we interact. It is the result of the
functions we serve collectively in our daily lives, selling cars, going to school, raising families, working at WalMart, teaching, fixing,
legislating, managing and on and on.
There are a number of theories and models by which we observe, analyze, and describe societies. Consider the following:
I like the post overall but I think we think that those in power do really have power because of the US miltary but citzens in a way run that too,
the miltary is comprised totally of citzens, its compelling to think that the miltary and the public for the matter let themselves be controlled by
about less than 20 people
