Any speculation of what it actually is?

Maybe a missile or something?

A.

I'm not sure what it is. I wonder if Borat saw it. "UFO in Kazakhstan? Very nice! Maybe it is being driven by gypsies who are trying to spy on us!"

It looks like a helicopter search light.

Depending on when this was filmed, it could have been russia launching their latest satellite. www.spaceflightnow.com...

I've seen rockets launch, and that looks like one. (To me at least.)

there was another video posted like that not too long ago looks all most the same. i'm not missle tech or anything, but i'd maybe lean towards a comet? but what gets me, is why are so many videos like this out there that are a few seconds long and then stop, what happened when the camera stopped? just curious, still nice wee video!

That was really hard to tell exactly, but my two thoughts were already mentioned, missile launch or helicopter search light. It was really hard to tell from that video which direction the object was moving. If it was a missile it would have had to have been far away since it didn't seem to move much, but there was no reference to tell in the video. I wished the cameraman would have just stayed still and not jump around like he had to go really bad.

It looks too high in the sky to be a helicopter, IMO. Usually a helicopter, when using its search light, is pretty low so that they can see what/who they are looking for. Probably a missle or something easily explained.

Interested to read what the good analysts here have to say about it.

Kazakhstan is the home of Baikonur Cosmodrome, Russia's space port.

Just how many videos of rocket launches must we post before you guys can recognize a rocket launch?

So true, Zorgon, so True....I should have known better to even think about the helicopter. We just did a few threads on rocket launches from Baiknour.
