Patriot Act Vs Civil Rights Discussion

I thought this would be some good info to share, illustrating some challenges with balancing out Patriot Act and civil rights, and the notion of reauthorizing the Patriot Act. Food for thought....



Not much to add, just wanted include some factors. I personally think the PA is antiquated and does more harm than good.

PA always did more harm than good.

That legislation was made to target AMERICANS as domestic terrorists and remove your rights as a citizen. It should be labeled as criminal.

Agreed, and I am wondering what is on the minds of those from both sides that are supporting this? Constituency, more defense spending/business, or just plain old fear? I don't get it, because my impression is most people think this act is destructive.

Seeing how the PA strrips us of basic Civil Rights I really dont see how you can balance the two......one is the oppisite of the other. The title is what most read I guess....it would be like a bill calling all prisons Freedom Camps.............its still a cage.
