Hi, I'm in Australia, as you know we have an SAS regiment. I was in the Army Reserves and we were called the "SAS" (Saturdays and Sundays).
Anyway, I have met lots of Aus SAS and not one of them ever admits publicly to being in the SAS, that's part of their security training. It's usually known here that if someone in Australia says they were or are SAS, then they aren't. But I don't know about the Brits. Assume that this guy is ex SAS and lets not turn a welcome thread into a "I think you're full of BS" thread. Having said that, I am wary of anyone that would admit to being associated in any way to an organization like Blackwater. Jeees, that bit may have wrecked your cred a bit.
Welcome to ATS though britishsas, I've no reason to doubt you, and look forward to your input, and like someone said at the begining, If you are telling porky pies, you will get found out.

Welcome aboard, and thank you for your service, I look forward unless this is a scam artist "allegedly" to reading your input. But I am sure being a proud former SAS man you will back these claims up. Take it easy now

SCARE someone off by asking them questions..... Wikipedia says "The Special Air Service (SAS) ... is tasked with special operations in wartime, and primarily counter-terrorism in peacetime."

Someone in that branch of the services should / would in no way be "scared" of mere words!

I live in the Southern US, where there are many Blackwater people. it appears they have little experience except being former military with little training other than standard combat - soldier training. Now they make 300k being 'security', for entities they cannot disclose. And they seem to have a LOT of free time.

Any light to shed on this?

Got a little no longer called Blackwater called Xe due to recent events transpiring within the company, including jail and fines resulting in Iraq, they have training facilities all over but the big one is in New Mexico, and South Carolina. It is true you have to have at least 6 years military and/or police training. There is as much as I know, oh and yes civilians can sign up to take some of their courses including, basic fire arm, and survival training, but you have to have your own equipment.

I am sure most would agree with you. but why not just black out the SSN and the last name, then you would just be Bill, Jim, etc. The rest would speak for itself, but things can be too easy to fake.

When I got out of the service I was told to take my DD214 to the county recorder for them to keep a certified copy on file in case I lost it, etc.., so I did just that, not knowing at the time that all these would later be released as a huge database available on line, so mine is already public, but they did at least mask my SSN, the rest is for anyone who knows where to look to see, really sucks to some point but nothing has ever come of it so far so good I guess as its been a few years now.

You can not demand any personal ID or claim on this person.

He would not be allowed to present information that could expose how or where the Unit operation at any time without consent of proper authority. Presenting such claims can be used as a pretext for investigation.

I agree he wouldnt be allowed so there is no way he can validate his claims. Like i say....ex SAS dont mess about on these sites...why would they???
Im 99.999999% sure the guy is full of it.
Look at my new edit above proving i can find all the information from googling....and i have never served in any armed forces

Which would have caused me to have leading questions based off of his answers, each time narrowing it down to where no one....NOT EVEN GOOGLE would have been your friend. I see you didn't answer all of the questions I asked, only a select couple but it doesn't matter since you pretty much already spoke on behalf (as if you even remotely knew how I would have chosen to proceed), but then again you probably know everything anyways (just like you KNOW that SAS wouldn't spend anytime on sites like these
).

Perhaps in the future maybe you should only worry about yourself and mind your own questions/answers rather than feel compelled to think you know more about what I am thinking than I do buddy

Just to make it clear i said experience not info.

You said "Hey im new here ... have been in the british sas as well as Blackwater (US) and have seen some corrupt **** ... and love spilling the truth ... "

Why would you need to inform everyone in your intro

"to have been in an elite branch of the services (SAS)", "to have been in Blackwater", "to have seen corrupt ****", "love to spill the truth".....

and then after much questioning by info hungry ATS members say you have experience NOT info?

I think that you guys have scared him off. What a shame. Still, if you do decide to return, welcome to ATS.
You will have to excuse our attitude here, we tend to encounter an awful lot of BS.
I am not in the sllightest bit interested in your exploits at Hereford or in the Beacons (God bless them).
Still, I would be interested in your service before. IE. Unit, place of intial training and where you conducted your parachute training. The reason I ask the last question is, that I was OIC the Squadron directly opposite the basic parachute training school. Maybe you could even tell me which Unit was across the road from you at your time there.

20 flags, really ??
The guy wont be back and if he is he wont be answering any of these questions so lets not keep posting.

For those who say he hasnt made any outlandish claims, its offensive for someone who has sworn secrecy to come on here and claim that he was a british SASR member.

This wannabe pisses on the deaths of those soliders, soldiers whos names are not permited to be known.

Claims like this happens all the time, and its usually not a big problem. People who make claims to be something they are not are not fooling anyone but themselves. They are not dishonoring anyone but themselves.

But if he's claim is true, and he begins to speak about it on this forum. He is dishonoring He's Unit.
