I fully agree, the object, as much as i wish it was a clear UFO, appears to be what you said, ice or dust, and the hatch opening at the same time has nothing to do with eachother.. unfortunately!

Does anyone here know enough about the ISS to know that it is not some kind of vent release?

Some actual information would be wonderful.

I don't know. But take the "hatch" for instance which turns out to be a dust cover, it must be there for a purpose,
maybe this link is a help,

en.wikipedia.org...

There is always dust about, but because we are messing about up there it's even worse.

gandolfthegrey,
you need to take your medication.

Russo is a good member of this site..
He just posts things that may interest others..
and he wants to know the truth as much as we do.
So he posts things so that all may come to the "proper" conclusion(s).

also..
like anyone cares how "gandolfthegrey" regards their posts.

Please.

As someone else pointed out, I think it's probably ice or dust. However, I am interested in why that hatch opened. Perhaps this is one for Jim Oberg.

Well, it might help to check the audio commentary at the time -- but that was for some unknown reason withheld by the original poster.

Here are two external views of typical space station windows and their covers:

This video sure was a whole lot of nothing. Thanks to the gratuitous titles and unnecessary Wikipedia info on the ISS which the uploader added to the beginning of the video, it's not even 'til the 2:28 mark that anything even happens!

And then...

A hatch opens!

And then it closes!

Ooooh, stop the presses everybody, a hatch opened and closed!

Let's not even talk about the music, which I guess is there to convey the notion that this total non-event is the most Earth-shattering thing that has ever occurred.

Amateurs.
