Ok,lets get one thing straight, this is not a racist thread,i hate racists!!!!

I have travelled through europe and love my european brothers!
I have never been to America but all of my favourite authors(Hunter s. Thompson/Jack Kerouac) and most of my favourite bands(Pearl Jam/Janes Addiction/Soundgarden) are American!!!

Any anti-British people, this is not the thread for you,so dont bother posting

I have had a few beers and i just want to declare my love for my country, the love for its history and my love for the war heros who represent it!!!!

I loved listening to this stuff back in school. Ahh to be back then, discussing music almost two decades old with a teacher who was the same age as it was happening....

I've got a Sham 69 LP somewhere and a cassette with stuff by Splodgenessabounds, Cockney Rejects and Stiff Little Fingers. Good stuff even though I'm more of a metalhead.

I almost sound like a blasphemer for sayin it but like the Beatles, I just never understood the love for The Clash. Maybe it's just me but I don't get it, there were bands who IMO were far better but don't get as much love.

I adore the Cockney Rejects cover of Two Little Boys though purely for the "stick your paintbrush up your arse Harris" line.

was really amazed at my neighbor from Salisbury (sp?) I think it was, who seemed to know just about everything there was regarding American politics and British history yet did'nt know this little tidbit about the flag.. also knew a good way to make curry but sheez ya'll are gonna have to lay off the Milwaukees Best (known as the beast here), maybe try something like Harp or Stella and if got a little extra dough I recommend St. Bernardus Trippel from Belgium-only one of course

The Union Flag is sometimes known as the Union Jack after its creator, James I of England, James VI of Scots. Jack comes from the Latin for James, Jacobus.

James managed to commission an Authorized Version of the Bible, printed in English in 1611.

The King James Version:
Its Influence on English and American History
The King James version of the Bible is only a book. What can a book do in history? Well, whatever the reason, books have played a large part in the movements of men, specially of modern men.

They have markedly influenced the opinion of men about the past. It is commonly said that Hume's History of England, defective as it is, has yet "by its method revolutionized the writing of history," and that is true.

no problem and is pretty interesting history unknown by many apparently much like the Sons of Liberty flag that represents the thirteen red and white stripes base of the current as well as most historical American flags even the first official Navy Jack currently flying on all US naval vessels since Sept11 2002 for the duration of the war on terror (still is I assume) and hope you got my sense of humour though dry it may be, think it was taken the wrong way on another American/Brit thread by some

What a great list of bands you listen to but I'm so jealous you have Green Day and the Foo Fighters!

Reading/Leeds and V Festival are great as is T in the Park..........it you can actually get a ticket!!! Hoping Latitude doesn't go the same way...

I was fortunate been fortunate enough to See Green Day a few times through out the years '95, '98, '05, and saw the Foos once back in '96 or 7 I think. I was more into Nine inch Nails, KMFDM, Cradle of Filth, Rammstein, Thrill Kill Kult, Marilyn Manson, Pigface, VNV Nation and the likes back then so I missed a bit of the rock scene. Kinda sucks when I think about it but I went industrial when grunge hit in '90/'91. ................... ew I could'nt stand the majority of that sh&te

Have never seen Green Day but have seen Foo Fighters twice, once at V Festival before the Red Hot Chilli Peppers came on and then at Leeds Festival just before whole hell let loose and there was a riot and people set the toilets on fire!

Used to go to a club around 95-97 that played mostly industrial and I actually posted Marilyn Manson and Pigface (I hate you in real life too) songs on my Facebook the other day.....not that anyone "liked" it! I guess I got more into indie music after that.

Have seen most of the british bands you mentioned live with the biggest disapointment being Prodigy, I think they had done too many drugs before the show!

Good to see you found some british gems in The Smiths and The Cure! My favourite band though is Eels......and they're one of yours!

Living where I do I am in close proximity to Cleveland, Philadelphia and NYC so although traveling is required I have been fortunate to see just about every band that I wanted and had a chance too. Saw Prodigy once back in 96 or 7 on The Lollapalooza tour it was Killer. Saw most of the others to. Placebo like 5 times, Muse, The Cure, Morrisey but not the Smiths obviously), Orbital, Chemical Brothers, Bush, Elastica.

Just about all of them but Oasis. I had tickets to see them in Pittsburgh, PA (where I live) back when but it was the tour where Noel just left one night and went Nomad for a week or something then just got bored and hopped a plane back to the UK. Even saw blur but that was on the Think Tank tour when The Verve guitar player was with them so Obviously I don't really count that since Graham wasn't there.

Hopefully if this crazy rock we live on holds together I want to take a trip to the UK in like two or three years time. I honestly feel like I could die totally content if I could catch a Festival and a proper EPL game or two. Its always been a dream. ..................... Man I really feel like I was born in the wrong place Country
