Why is there so much snow falling and cold temperatures now? Well it's "global warming" of course. The video speaks for itself.

He said it was global "swinging" not global warming. Oh, boy... what next. It's not global anything people, it's solar radiation, Earth axis, and polar shift. But mostly solar activity.

There is no such thing as global warming other than the sun warming the globe.

The intentionally misleading title of this thread is a sign of the declining value of discussion on ATS. No wonder Loughner's attorneys are using his ATS connection as "proof" of his insanity!

Kaku's interview has been misrepresented here. Almost no one denies that the climate changes; the real issue is causality. The OP misrepresents the interview for effect instead of facing the issue head-on.

So long as people resort to sensationalism insofaras the climate is concerned, the longer we will dither without real consideration of the impact or the mitigation of change, regardless of cause.

What exactly did I misrepresent? He said "global warming", then proceeded to try and change the lexicon because the "global warming" term wasn't working anymore and blowing up in their face. The intent of the interview was obvious.

Did I try to add a little zest to the title, yes, but there's nothing misleading about it.

Peace

Eh, I think it's ridiculous... not part of it ... ALL OF IT.

You have the oil companies pushing their AGW denial propaganda, and the anti-establishment CT community who are supposed to be "free-thinkers" buy that crap up.

You have scientists being paid to focus on carbon emissions, while not talking nearly as much about serious environmental issues like methane release, pollution, the plastic continent, heavy metals spewing out all over the place, etc, etc...

You have people that can't tell their left from right, or right from wrong, pointing the finger at everyone else when they'd probably be doing more good shoving it up their own asses or throats for a change.

And nobody wants to say what's really going on....

Human nature interacting with the available resources....

This return to barbarism, deceit, and outright douchebaggery is a direct result of our ravaging this planet since the agricultural revolution. When we were able to live in unison with our environment, before the flood, we didn't have the need to conquer each other... we learned the values of things like empathy and altruism. As our numbers increased, resources dwindled, and ecosystems collapsed around our habitats, we became more ruthless, learned the necessity of centralized governance, and spread out if we didn't jive with all that.

Well, where's there left to spread out to? We can colonize other planets, but how many will make it out, and by what time?

It's just evolution, guys. We're in a crunch time is all. I've long given up on humanity in our current form. Too many stupid, too many ignorant .... too many, period. You can say we have enough for twice as many, but obviously ... we don't. Perhaps we could in theory, but we can't in reality.

If the politicians and humanity truly cared about the climate fluctuations and thought the greenhouse emission theory had any merit, we'd ration meat consumption. Since that isn't happening, I know that we're pretty much screwed, and it doesn't matter how many people waste their time pointing the finger. The majority of us are unfit for survival, and the majority have made this decision. We have brought this on our selves, ultimately.

So I'ma keep puffing on this yummityum and watching the fools fight and yell.

Peace.
