How do you make your own Secret Society? | How did they originate?

I was wondering if any 1 knew how/why secret societys were made

I have heard about freemasons / illumity ect

But why were others made up

Chi Omega (seen that name on board recently)

Skull and Bones

Ect of some examples

Can some 1 give some background info on why/who made them and for what purpose (Name of $.$ - Who/Reason) ect

Im just curious thats all

First you tell people about it, so you can recruit members.

Usually they are founded by men who have the same values and want to share that experience with others. They acknowledge that they have a duty to help society and do so though philanthropic events. They also socially bond and have a general affection for each other.

Some societies stress duties to family (Promise Keepers) other's stress charity (Masons), others stress friendship and academics (college fraternities). The list goes on and on.

The rest (coming up with a ritual, const, etc) comes later. But it all starts with some kind of bond of friendship. I also believe there is a general need for male bonding. This type of bonding furthers the maturation process and makes sure men are not led astray. Secret societies have an intense mentoring program. It's hard to explain. Just the fact of the bond creates a very good mentor/mentee relationship.

No no you just don't tell anyone.. see you need to find people that want to feel special or share an idea that can easily be turned into a cause or even a obsession. Then you make a big show of inviting them into your "circle", make them feel special and feed into their idealologies and fears. Once you have a firm grasp on your first few... you and they recruit more.. wether they know it or not they will have learned how to do this effectively by you.

You have to make to make sure to spoon feed ideas etc.. to these people sorta quietly.. then make lavish statements about it's validity.. of course they'll think your great because "that was exactly what they thought" ... the best way to agree with them.. since they must agree with you to believe you.. is to twist their own words such a way as to make it seem like you're on the same page... soon they'll be mimicing you.

Don't make mistakes like asking for $$$ to join. Just quitly hint that donations are welcome.

Make sure they keep anything that might sound wild etc.. in the circle.. stange statements will make their friends and family ? it.

Don't seclude them.. they can't recruit if you shield them from the rest of the world.

Your best weapons are the really great mimicers.. they've basicaly learned how to brain wash people and don't even know they are doing it.

there now don't go off and make any UFO suicide cults...

I really don't think most "secret societies" are as innocent as all that.

I've just finished reading a book about secret societies and it seems like some other popular reasons they've been founded are:
1. The deliberate self-aggrandisement of an egotistical and manipulative individual
and
2. The overthrow of the government/prevailing authority by creating a mass of robotic adherents.

I'm sure there are certain groups who are formed for purely philanthropic purposes. But there seems to be a lot that aren't.

First rule of a secret society, no talking about it

Mainly a group of guys with something in common and the same views. Lets say, for example, that a group wants to form a society that meets in secret to discuss international issues etc. Firstly, after recuriting members, some form of rules and guidelines would be constructed and then the group will probably go underground.

It needs to be descreet but with an easy way of finding potential members. Basically start advirtising a non-secret society for people you want to recruit but that is just the cover for your secret society. Try say a profession and then interview them for a job offering. The do this all the time when hiring school teachers.
