Beginning in March 2007, China Green has been taking a daily photo of the Beijing skyline. The photographs have been documenting the smog conditions over the city. Recently we have extended the project to document New York’s air quality and compare the atmospheric conditions in both cities. We are launching the Air Match-up Weekly feature on Mondays and Tuesdays where we will be showing past week’s air quality in these two cities. This is not a one stop for all if you want to know everything about air pollution in Beijing or China. This feature, instead, offers a quick, visual record of air quality in Beijing and New York. For more information and the full, day-by-day calendar archive of Beijing’s photos over the past few years, visit Beijing Air. Presented by China Green from the Center on US-China Relations at Asia Society. Special thanks to photographers Lin Yang/John Billingsley in Beijing and Jeff Wang/Elsa Anderson in New York.

And.........this has to do with so-called "chem"-trails how, exaclty??

Looking at the site, seems clear that it's about the uncontrolled pollution in the major cities of China. No environmental concern, such as seen in Western nations, and no regulations on emissions from autos, trucks, motorscooters, factories, etc.

In fact, having grown up in the Los Angeles, California area.....THOSE skies were much, much worse forty years ago, on average, than today. Better air quality laws are a direct reason for the improvement.

Wow we knew weedwacker would come here first to comment. The word chem-trail must have got ya excited didnt it?? I suppose the pictures have chem-trailing planes in most all of the pics.
Here in n-wisconsin we had 3 straight days of not 1 plane flying. Well we had a verry cold front come down from canada, so there was no reason for the planes to chem-trail, the week before we had 30 flights over our town?? now with the cold front no planes???
Its the global dimming project, they spray their chem -smear to reflect the sun.
The inside of our earth is heating up also and its their vain attempt to postphone the inevitable thats comming. earthquakes and volcanoes.
You cant heat up the outside of our earth without it adding insulation for the furnace that is inside, without expansion!!!!
Wonder what even 1 degree increase in the inside of the earth would mean as far as expansion of the tectonic plates???
Just look up people and its plain they are dimming the skies. Planes flying with their chem-smear streaking the skies only to spread out and cloud or smear by noon.. I mean come on people 2+2 does equal 4.

NO, you did not.

Here in n-wisconsin we had 3 straight days of not 1 plane flying.

The airlines all fly just about exactly the same schedules, with only minor day-to-day differences sometimes.

What you had were diffent relative humidity conditions, at altitude. Happens everywhere...airplanes were there, but no contrails to draw your attention to them.

Still haven't used the tools offered, yet huh? Next time it's a clear day, USE it, go to Flight Aware, and se how many airplnes are flying over....no contrails? Air is too dry.

Oh, and show where this thread title, and the website it mentions, have anything to do with "chem"-trails??

The inside of our earth is heating up also...

Oh, my. Science and geology....try to take a look again, if you have any old textbooks handy. Oh, wait...you can learn online too.

This is a great initiative. Would be great if expanded across several cities, even if just one from each continent. This isn't even science in the truest sense, BUT it's observation, pure and simple. I think we should spend more time just "looking", and doing less "fixing".

Hey weedwhacker, didn't your get your chemmy fix this morning? I'll phone the boys and they'll dump some extra trails for you ok?
