If this was normal GPS testing, wouldn't it be global in nature and not a single point on the globe? Since GPS signals are sent out by satellits, wouldn't the cone of error get larger at lower altitudes? Something is very strange with this alert... The pulsing nature of the test is also very odd. 45 minutes of testing and 15 minutes of stand down time. I am a pilot and I rely on GPS for navigation, haven't looked at a chart for years. Good luck out there!

I think they are testing a new system that would allow for disruption of gps systems in a locality based area, such as Iran, China or somewhere else so that weapons guidance systems would have a difficult time hitting targets while their own systems use different guidance methods such as manual/IR/radar.

Is there any chance this may be related to magnetic anomalies caused by the Yellowstone park volcano beginnng to become more active?
Perhaps the magnetic fluctuations of shifting magma can be measured from space satelite?
Maybe they need to use these GPS sats to monitor the build up?
