I'm no good at reading prints per se but from what you say, it being new the window, the loud sound etc...

Could it possibly be a bird's? We had this before at home/work where a bird would fly into a window, fall down, sometimes walk around a bit then fly away once it had got it's bearings (when they are not too injured anyways).

Not rabbit tracks but squirrel.
Reason being the 2 prints on the left are paired (those are the front feet)
Rabbit tracks would have been staggered as opposed to paired,
Size was about 5 inches or so across both ways, yes?

This is no amateur guess. I've been teaching animal tracking for over 20 years.

Sorry if i am bringing back this old thread of mine but the footprint really seems to reassemble the well known
(Devil footprints)

Vid from another thread.

Even though the footprints in the video are rather smaller. Then what i mentioned to capture. Question why would the Jersey devil be in Canada?

I would say rabbit. They have a tendency to hop from one place to the next, long feet in the back, short paws in front. Together they would make that shape.

Sounds good to me. Some smallish critter hopping around. No Bigfoot or Springheel Jack.

Im going with deer.. Id say a larger heavy one.. The weight split the hoof and the snow depth recorded the smaller hoof like protrusion that are up on the back of the leg.. (google deer leg youll see what i mean) .. Then i see that the snow had some melting occur.. That always distorts prints..
