In yet another, all too familiar, clash between Bangladesh townies (locals) and marauding Indian elephants, the Bangladesh government announced it is
siding with locals and ordering the hooligan pachyderms return to India or die.
It seems that Bangladesh is tired of same old, "elephants will be elephants" excuse.

India must retrieve about 100 marauding elephants feared to have killed 13 people and injured dozens after straying over the border, Bangladesh
officials say, or they could be forced to kill the animals.

Rogue Indian elephant incursions into Bangladesh are not infrequent. However, the raids are carried out by elephas maximi in small numbers.
This pachyderm parade, on the other hand, is quite large (in numbers that is) and prone to destroying property, eating domesticated animals, and
killing people.
Bangladesh authorities plan to handle this elephantine problem by revoking the amimals' ELEPHAS fraternity charter and then killing them dead.
