Well it seems a lot of countries are getting floods right now, maybe its the UK's turn? flood defences being put up on several rivers that are rising after heavy rainfall.

These floods are becomming more often with more heavy rainfalls, could there be more to this than meets the eye?

I hope the rivers subside and nothing comes of this but part of the news thread reads...

14 alerts, 2 warnings...

"According to the Environment Agency, a flood warning means flooding is expected and that immediate reaction is required"

Fingers crossed nothing comes of this but think of all the snow that's melted and that has saturated to ground. Not much going to soak into that ground so its going to flow into rivers etc.

Does northern England still have snow? We haven't had it since christmas and looking out the window, hasn't rained for a few days either and even then it wasn't much.

I wouldn't put it down as anything apocalyptic for our overseas brethren though, while it's unfortunate that it happens at all and people have lives and property ruined, it seems to be a regular yearly occurence whether it snows beforehand or not.
