Well pertaining more to the topic, I agree that the NAACP's reaction was knee-jerk and made them look bad. They should have done more research before organizing a protest. But I do not see them as a racist organization. Don't forget that they, aren't an all-Black organization either....

then why did they drop their plans for a protest after finding out the girl is white if they arent a black only group??? seriously, explain that to me. maybe its just me but something in my mind tells me that if a group looks out for all people then they wouldnt have dropped their plans to protest this after finding out she waws white. the fact they dropped their plans after finding out she was white contradicts your claim they arent all black.

do you even know what NAACP stands for? i'll give you a hint, the CP stands for colored people. does THAT sound like "everyone" to you or does it sound like a group for a certain segment of the population?

but again i'm going to ask you and curme and anyone else who feels like defending this group. if they arent all black then why did they drop their plans to protest over this after they found out she was white? why did THEY assume she was black? because of her name? isnt THAT stereotyping? isnt that being small minded? isnt THAT selfish to turn your back and decide not to protest because her skin color doesnt match yours? isnt THAT racist?

i think the guy should be fired though. what he said wasnt funny regardless who said it or how it was said. and considering his position he should have known not to do it. and why would someone in the education system make fun of a child? shouldnt we be hiring people who like kids?

Come on, people...

He didn't have a prayer at another term as L.A.'s mayor...didn't have a prayer at getting the Governor's chair...finally settled for an Appointment by Arnold to the position of Education Secretary...I guess what I'm getting at is, why stick with this loser??

Reappoint him to a go-nowhere, do-nothing position and be done with him!

I am absolutely livid about this. What kind of man says that to a 6 year old child ???? He's a total waste of space. If I were Arnold, I'd get rid of him without another thought.

Gee that's what it stands for? Boy I sure didn't know that, I'm glad you're here to educate me.

NAACP is wrong as they fight for rights of different coloured people. Why don't they fight against the fact that people make a difference between white, black and other ethnics?

IT IS racistic to say we are against bullying a coloured girl but it is very okay to do this with a white girl.
It is so ironic that they really see a difference between a white and a black girl. I thought they fight for an equal rights society, what a bunch of liars.

NAACP should be closed or they should be against racism in general WHICH INCLUDES racism against white people and not the usual "the white people have enough rights so forget them"-opinion.

Maybe they should be closed, they are useless and perhaps even harmful. I don't see this as an example of the NAACP as BEING racist, but as an example of them CREATING racism where it doesn't exist, and that is what so many people are getting fed up with.

If it had involved a black girl the assumption by the NAACP is the incident MUST be racially motivated, and that is garbage, as this incident proves. This could obviously have happened to a girl of any race and that doesn't make it racist if the girl had not been white. I think their actions here prove this and is an example of them constantly creating racism where it doesn't exist.

Certainly there are still, and always will be ignorance and legitimate cases of racism, but it is counter productive to even their own cause to use every incident they can jump on the bandwagon for as their own stepping stone to bring attention to their own agenda. They no longer have any credibility in a lot of people's eyes because of this behavior. Therefore people who support their legitimate cause, now turn a deaf ear the minute their organization is mentioned. As far as I can see, they shot themselves in the foot - again.

This guy is a complete a**hole and I hope Arnold tears him a new one. At the very least this guy needs to take this little girl and her family to dinner to the nicest restaurant in LA.

The NAACP was once a good organization, but now their just a bunch of racist promoting racism. Yeah, they should change their name - so nobody confuses them with the NAACP that was against racism.

The girl was stupid because the education system failed her, and dirty because she doesn't bathe.
The National Association for the Advancement of Coloured Peoples got invovled because this 'Under educated young female with poor personal hygiene' (The new PC term for stupid dirty girl) had the name Isis, and Egyptian name, who would have a Egyptian name but someone from egypt. Egypt is in Africa. Thus, if she is from Africa she is not white...If she is not white she is coloured. Thus the knee-jerk reaction from the NAAPC.
Seems a simple answer, though stupid.
