Well, like they say, Create a super interesting, well written and thought-out thread, and be a part of the solution...

Or, continue your rant, carry on.

You are absolutely right.

I would like to hereby retract my entire rant.

And I would like to apologize again, to any "younglings", English as a 2nd language people, or even bad spellers.

In my view, it's more important to be self expressed, sharing and learning from one another, and yes, if we want higher quality, better researched and constructed threads and discussions, then it's the responsibility of anyone who is able to put forth the effort and lead by example, you got me.

I was wrong.

I hadn't had my morning coffee yet when I made that op..? (does that work?)

Best Regards,

Rob

Actually, I didn't even think about that until I read your response.

I was more referring to the "I am Jesus" types that show up weekly.

I think I know what (who, really,) you're on about, and my advice is to become a bit more adept at identifying the terminally clueless and those whose anger and immaturity makes it pointless to have a discussion with, and just ignore them. It will make life easier on you and if enough people act similarly, the offending person will either wise up and act a bit more civilly, or get bored and leave.

Well that would be utterly impossible, because I am Jesus, and I'm already here!

JK - Jesus is to me a principal personified, nothing more or less, so it extends itself in the form of an invitation only.

But I'm glad you didn't mean ME! That would be terrible! And for some reason I don't think Jesus would approve either, or even scarier, perhaps he just might..?!

Ahhhhhh! (running from the love of Christ which seeks to Chrisify me)

To furher try to unrant my rant..

ATS is THE best communications platform of it's kind anywhere on the Internet, period. I love it here. Thanks Springer and crew we all really appreciate it, both midlings, oldlings and younglings alike, great writers, the poor, the lonely, the downtrodden, the hurting the curious the enlightened, the haters, the idiots the whole lot of us, and whenever we point our fingers there's only always and forever some damn fool at the other end of it, so I'm done pointing, and have decided instead that I must applaud, celebrate and be greatful, for the opportunity to communicate to such a wide audiance, and with such a wonderful group of amazing people, that ROCKS!

This rant is now - OVER/

Rant Off.

I would still like to request more emoticons however..

I believed your rant had basis... I also experienced a similar thing although I never had an old username.

On the other hand and even though I have been reading here maybe over 2 years before I was forced to register after the forums were locked down to onlookers (all but current pick topics) or (via a google search of the exact name of the topic) But even in that time I believe I never did see any posters claiming to be Jesus...

I have seen alot of people admire Jesus' philosophy like many people admire others such as Einstein and notable people in history, but I have also never seen anyone claiming to be Einstein either.

every action has an equal and opposite reaction (if ya ask me)

edit on 1/14/2011 by Cosmic.Artifact because: (no reason given)

so....you're ah, Newton, then?

you got it

see Newton was way cool because he even had an answer for the Big Bang before it was even a theory, and possibly give rise to the Big Bang theory itself with the statement, (Gravity still could not explain what set the planets in motion) so the gaps have to be filled in somewhere... I call it "the human condition"

Einstein was cool too mainly because he knew just how to treat the subject of I.D. so he may be able to get on with his work and also show respect to all individuals, this is important because creationist rarely bash or disagree with Einstein... he knew how to play his hand well.

But these modern age charlatans such as Michio Kaku are not as enlightened as they would lead people to believe, most of them are actually playing the hand against in order to receive notoriety and hopefully sell a book. Straight up in it for the money and not for pure knowledge of both hands or sides of the story.

so you could say... yes, I like Newton am interested in both subjects of science and philosophy.

here is a little example of the avoidance and true enlightenment of the modern day charlatan.

notice how the host ask him for "his views" and how do "you" feel about such and such...

but the answer we get is "we"

as if his very own version of truth is indeed "fact"

gotta love the "we" when it is used

I realize now to substitute the "we" when it is heard, with "I"

it brings it on down to earth a little more and makes him (and others) seem more "human" and less like their own deity.

boom boom tis!

Stephen Hawking is another one (doesn't matter if he's all crippled up or not).

These people are so arrogant it is unbelievable, and you thought I was bad for saying I was Jesus!

These guys would not only throw their own grandmother under a bus for notariety, they'd throw God almighty under the bus!

You should look into a guy called Irvin Laszlo, now he's freaking GENIUS, and humble. Many people say he's the successor to Einstein (can't be Hawking).

poor Hawking... had to step aside all gracefully when in fact we all know the reality that he was given "the boot" from one of the most prestigious position held by many of the greatest minds.

Stephen Hawking to give up prestigious Cambridge title, Theoretical physicist Stephen Hawking will no longer hold the post at Cambridge once held by Sir Isaac Newton.

we all know the true meaning when someone is asked to resign but still allowed to keep some dignity...

I will look into Laszlo thanks.

Just because he was good at some of the math regarding black holes doesn't mean he's the second coming of Newton or Einstein.

This is the same guy who once claimed reverse causation for the big crunch, an utterly absurd hypothesis right on the face of it.

Speaking of time and arrows of time, these guys are OBSESSED with the notion of an arrow of time, but what if there is no such thing as time except as a convention to measure apparent localized causality.

I don't pretend however to be a theoretical physicist, but there's intuition and common sense, once we start to grasp some of the implications of QM, which these guys ignore hell bent on trying to kill God.

Hawking's had an axe to grind all along, it's obvious in all of his works, good riddence I say, and of course that has nothing whatsoever to do with his disability.

agreed, time is something humans created to be able to perceive better that which is our surroundings, it is also part of the human condition that our minds are stuck somewhat in linear mode and can not break the chains because it is written into us (I think of the cycle of day and night when thinking about how this happened)

the biggest mistake Hawking made was to address a very taboo subject for supposed purely scientific minded people, Einstein knew to avoid this well but still satisfied both parties.

In Newtons day, lets just say those were different times when people were more in touch with nature and much more open-minded about that taboo subject for scientist to touch.

being of course... the God debate.

those scientist who touch it, do themselves in, it's pretty much a sure thing unless they treat it like Einstein did in our present time.
