For over a year nor Edwards has been pushing for a Domestic CIA much like the MI-5 branch in England. and according to reports Kerry is also interested in it as well. THis is surprising for a couple of very liberal Democrats. It also fuel my concerns about the erosion of rights in the country at large.

Who would oversee this agency, and what safeguards would the public have?

It wouldn't surprise me if Edwards supported it. He's pretty darned conservative and innovative on Intelligence.

But do you have any links or news stories to point to regarding this?

This is one of the things that shows that the people who say "Dems or Reps, its all the same people behind the scenes"

This all fits in so perfectly with the furthering of the NWO agenda.
Bush would propably have brought it in with one of his next patriot acts, without much people knowing about it. But now the dems got their candidate furthering the same agenda in the open :@

Thanks for the link FredT.

Asking a law-enforcement agency to manage intelligence is like trying to jam a square peg into a round hole, Edwards said in a December 2002 speech to the Brookings Institution. The FBI builds cases rather than connecting dots, and it keeps information secret rather than getting it to those who can use it stop the terrorists.

From what I've gathered, Edwards is right. The FBI is a huge failure in intelligence gathering. They investigate and prosecute crime well
, but they suck eggs at preventing it. We're talking about terrorism here, no?

What's so Big Brother about freeing up the FBI and making a seperate domestic Intel agency?

And Matrix, you're going to have a hard sell convincing me a guy from Robbins, that went to State and UNC and drinks at the Rathskelller and He's Not Here and went to Sha Na Na shows at the Cat's Cradle is part of the NWO. If he is, then my Mom must be the Pope.

While it may be needed in these post 911 days, I am really worried about the total erosion of our liberties. In some ways the 911 Hijackers will have acomplished thier mission by changing how our society operate.
