Saying, "I think Sarah Palin should be shot" is not a death threat. Just a statement of their personal opinion.

I don't like Palin as much as everyone else, but they are just statements. Wording is everything.

Would you consider it wishing death on her?

That's all that is claimed in the OP title.

How many twitters have there been wishing death on Phelps and his band of merry lunatics?

Seriously- I hope there is a ton of security at the funerals of the victims...

I have a bad feeling about them... between the ill will toward Phelps and Palin,
there may be a lone nut or two who may be out for some kind of crazy kind
of rampage.

Wow. Just wow. Since when does one bad deed deserve another? Seriously, if this off the wall political rhetoric (spouted by politicians and citizens) continues to escalate the way it has been, well, a wise man once said "I've got a bad feeling about this." Red states VS. Blue States will have a whole new meaning.

thank you,

and this hatred is encouraged by the media.

One has to wonder, why this women is so hated by both sides,

This is why we need governments, because if we didn't we would be left with decisions being made in the equivalent fashion of twitter campaigns and facebook groups. The people are too bloody stupid to rule themselves.

So the bloody stupid people elect bloody stupid governments, so what is the advantage again?

While I hate Sarah Palin with a passion, I think this is unfair to her.

She was not responsible for the shooting anymore than donald duck was, to blame her is a betrayal of the events of that day.

The fact that people would even latch onto this idea just show how deep the media has its claws in the brains of these people.

I never thought I would defend that woman

*shudder*

You are obviously a rational person. Where the heck did you come from?

Its hard to choose one reason to hate her there are just so many

1. her hijacking of the tea party
2. her verbal attacks on wikileaks
3. the damage she does (to the already badly damaged) world opinion of america
4. her warmongering atitude
5. There is also the fact thats there is somthing about her that I just find plain creepy

Hate is a strong word, to attach it to the reasons you listed.

You must hate a lot of people, and I'm not defending palin...I just believe your hate is misguided and is clouding your thought process.

Just stating my observation.

You wanna know why???

Because ever since she has stepped on to the stage America seems unable to have a substancial debate.

Instead of talking about the hundreds of thousands of families who are broken by this Healthcare system
we talked about Death Panels and socialisms - We could have talked about many things, we could have helped ourselves and done something positive. Sarah helped frame the debate which lead to nothing good, she had a hand in it!

the Crux of my statement and how Sarah works is based upon

PLATITUDE

A platitude is a trite, meaningless, biased, or prosaic statement, often presented as if it were significant and original. The word derives from plat, the French word for "flat." Whether any given statement is considered to have meaning is highly subjective, so platitude is often—but not always—used as a pejorative term to describe seemingly profound statements that a certain person views as unoriginal or shallow. An example of a platitude could be "go with the flow" or "a rule is a rule."

I was directing the post towards anyone thinking it was a death threat, like in some posters posts.

More nuts showing their ugly face. Moreover, making an already serious matter even worse. An elected official was almost murdered, a Federal Judge was killed, a nine-year-old child, and others. It is irresponsible to put the blame in the laps of the other side, and in an attempt to make the other look all lily white. Both sides are guilty of fanning the flames of anger during this tumultuous time. If anything, both parties ought re-evaluate themselves and give an apology for what happened. Now, Sarah Palin's campaign approach may have been crude or irresponsible in its presentation.

As far as I see it, that controversial campaign poster was meant as a metaphor and not be taken literally. She and her planners were trying to make the last campaign seem like it was high stakes and a serious affair. This situation in Arizona involved one crazed nut who was seriously off of his meds. These loose canons go off from time to time, and no society or country is immune from these outbursts. For anyone to fan the flames and continue to politicize the tragedy in Arizona is crude and irresponsible. These idiots on twitter, in the media, or in politics need to can the crap. Lets mourn those who lost their lives, and work to improve the political climate in this country. The bitterness must stop, and partisan mortal combat must be ignored and condemned by the American public. It is like pouring gasoline on a tinderbox.

Disgusting but not a surprise given the current political climate in the world. People just don't THINK anymore.

And not to split hairs here, but what's almost as bad is the title of the damn video and consequently this thread headline. Shouldn't it be more like "People Wish Death on Sara Palin?" As it stands it almost makes it sound like all the Twitter users got together and decided to wish death on her, when in reality it was a very few. To further illustrate the point, how would we feel if we had a thread here on "ATS Users Wish Death on Sarah Palin." People just don't THINK anymore.

Yeah...this happened to be on Twitter, but what's Twitter got to do with it really? Is Twitter really a culprit here? Or even relevant? It's just one of many channels available to non-thinking people who think their freedoms extend to this tool and many social and information sites and outlets like it. Does this in any way imply that Twitter needs to go away or something? I'm sure that's probably not what the person who posted this video on YouTube intended to imply, but it does sort of imply it...and at worst case might give some clown the idea that Twitter should go away because of it. People just don't THINK anymore.

True hate is a strong word and prahaps I used it to lightly but I think she is worst politician I have ever heard of and there's alot of compitiion for that spot.

most politicans are only fueled by greed but she seem to be fueled by a fanatic zeal that her world view is perfect, infallible and true.

People that believe things completely without the possibility of doubt scare me because there
A) usualy wrong
B) unable to accept anything that contradicts their world view
C) most are usual determined to follow that view to the bitter end

She's a bad politician in the same way that religous figures often (but not always) make bad politicians.

I need Health care, but the health care debate is not all Palins fault.

A huge segment of society doesn't like the plan as it is written,

Why did Obama sneak in the end-of-life provisions , then the Obama administration dropped the provision for end-of-life consultations three days later.

But that is another topic.
