So, last night i wanted to try so deep meditation/lucid dream or something along the lines. I bearly ever remember my dreams, like not even 1 a month usually. But i wanted to try this last night, so i prayed to God (i'm a Christian) that He would show me something and help me have a spiritual dream or trip. While i was meditating i fell asleep and had a dream. I cant remember the beginning of the dream but what i remember is this...

I was on an airplane leaving afghanistan (which is where i currently am), it wasnt a regular air plane, it was huge inside and was filled with bunk beds that we all got. Everybody was changing out of their cammies into their civilian cloths so i start changing. Then someone came up to me and said 'you're not done working yet, stay in your cammies', so i did. After that the plane started to spiral down and a bright light that i thought was the sun came through the window and blinded me and i thought it should go away because the plane was spiralling but it didnt. It was so bright i tried everything to cover my eyes but it was bright no matter what i did. This lasted for a little while then i woke up.

i later realised the bright light was from someone turning the light on in the room, but i find it irrelevent (sp?) because if this was something spiritual God could easily use an outside source the enhance the dream.

Anyways i got 2 meanings from the dream but they seem to contradict each other.

1) The man who said, 'your not done working yet...' to me that means that i havent yet done whatever God's plan for me is.

2) The plane spiraling and the bright light could mean that my end may be near and the bright light may be God or something along those lines...

idk though, i'd like anyone elses idea that maybe i hadn't thought of. thank you ahead of time for your help

It means that you're gay.
No just kidding, I think you are right in that you realize your mortality and that you at this time do not feel that you have accomplished what you would like to accomplish in this lifetime. I think it's a very positive dream.

Always try to figure these things out on your own first. Try a dream interpretation site (there are many) such as www.dreammoods.com its no golden ticket but it has some merit. Hope this helps

that someone was yourself , self realisation in a sence
id say ego and idd is updating/talking to one and other
i think it was jung that said that the "oldman" is some sort of arch type of mind
old self some might say , i guess the lesson is for you to figure it out
what your old self means with it to the new me? , ..

good dream ,

then you have the vessel and the journey , thats a tricky one ,
id say it was the fast way out , lights came on (out side source you cant control)
mind goes into shock and dreams become what they become ,
you woke up to the lights eventualy

but you d probobly go by plane home and the journey there is a long routine ,

hard to say , its your dream and you wokeup in the middle of it ,

had friends stationed in the north, mazarif or what its called

the weather there should be nice at this time of the year,

thankks for the responses,
i like to think it means i have more to accomplish in life, not that my plane will crash on the way home...

By and large, the dreamer is the final authority on the meaning of the dream. What's more,

1) The man who said, 'your not done working yet...' to me that means that i havent yet done whatever God's plan for me is.

makes perfect sense in light of what you said about your beliefs, the circumstances in which you had the dream, and the content of the dream.

I would, however, like to say a few things about your second item. In your report, you said,

i later realised the bright light was from someone turning the light on in the room, but i find it irrelevent (sp?) because if this was something spiritual God could easily use an outside source the enhance the dream.

Maybe not quite irrelevant. The phenomenon that something from the dreamer's actual physical situation shows up in the dream is called dream incorporation, searchable. So far as I know, dream incorporation is uncontroversially an authentic sleep phenomenon.

So, the light in the room where you are sleeping went on. Then what happened in your actual physical situation? Well, you were dark adapted, so the light hurt. Reflexively, you tried to avert your eyes and, very likely, tried to turn your head. But you were probably in REM sleep. So, your eyes continued their involuntary motion typical of that condition, and your neck, if it turned at all, did so with a much greater lag than is usual.

So, you experienced a mismatch in efference (what you told your muscles to do) and reafference (what you perceived that your muslces actually did). And I think that that mismatch got incorporated, too. Within the context of the already ongoing dreamscape, an airplane in flight, spiralling out of control while not changing the intensity of the light is a fair restatement of your actual condition.

So what is remarkable here, IMO, is that even though you woke up from this, you woke up because the light was on, not as a reaction to a "nightmare." At least according to your report, you didn't feel frightened.

Now, maybe you did feel frightened, and just didn't say so. But if you're looking for a "message" in all of this, then it's in your emotional reaction, positive or negative, to the dream-incorporated elements, or maybe what you thought about the situation before you woke up, and not that those elements were present in your dream.

In my opinion, of course.

Thank you for your service, and thank you for posting your dream.

Let us get straight to the point: It was not "God"

If you are currently in Afghanistan, your dreams are suggesting that whatever you are doing - it isn't over. Regardless of what you and others my feel. Difficult times might be on the horizon or you are required in operating a significant task.

In your personal life, there *might* be unforeseen problems that require your attention. You have not been informed or realised, just yet. In other words, you are being forewarned that you are needed and should not become "relaxed" about your current situation. A new life path, if you will.

2) The plane spiraling and the bright light could mean that my end may be near and the bright light may be God or something along those lines...

A plane spiraling is seen as a chaotic situation, that tends to end in death. Bright light is what we, allegedly, walk into after death. "Death", however, in many traditions (and the tarot card) is seen as a "new beginning" - you are about embark on a new life path. As the dream told you, "your not done working yet..." and the symbolising highlights a new journey is waiting for you.
