The whole OP comment is crude chest beating by a blowhard.

And how would you word, in your P.C. and un-offensive words, such a thing as the person in the article?

Firstly If you bumped into me in the street I would be the first to apologise. I like good manner and do not wish to offend.

I am secure in the following:

1) My sexuality.
2) My place in the world.
3) My faith in America to regenerate itself.
4) My ability to handle myself in a fist fight.
5) My ability to handle guns effectively but I prefer cold steel as it is up close and personal.
6) My understanding of the contradictory aspects of my mind.

When you have that level of security as a deeply held belief. You look at the opinions expressed and ask why the bellowing? Could it not be stated quietly?

And I agree with 80 to 85% of his opinions. I do not share his views on race and god knows the American understanding of socialism ( frankly a word so meaningless, as to require qualifying adjectives) is at odds with the rest of the world.

Anyway talk never cooked rice. Saner heads will still have to sit down and fix America. A whole new paradigm is needed that rewards thrift and hard work but also curbs the free market capitalism as it has led us to this fine mess. We do not need bloated government. The greatest nation in the world cannot have people dying in the street. Do I have all the solutions? Hell no? But we should get rid of the lobbyists.

I have been trained to fight a civil war when I did my national service. I can tell you I would not wish it on my worst enemy not because I am a wuss but because of the effect on the extended family and neighbourhoods. It is all a waste.

Do you not think the division and vitriol has already led to terrible murders this week? Yes I know the shooter is mad but his actions are a reflection of the American split.

And on the topic of race I have posted on my abhorrence for the so-called black leaders and have a special place in a cess-pit for that idiot sharpton who I would incarcerate there.

America is the common man standing up for what he believes is right without tyrannical interference from those who wish to enslave his nation. Excessive taxation, limits on personal freedoms, rule from a distant elite class is what tore the common man from the empire. At Lexington and Concord we ceased being a colony of commonwealths and became a soverieign nation. The world is a much different place now, larger, more vast. However once again common men of all nations face a similar threat to liberty and must once again come together and face a dominant enemy. Though the players have changed, no longer are we facing just a superior military machine, we are facing economic collapse, racism, hate, terrororism, religious divisions, slavery, children are dying, and killing. The common man that leads all the nations from this new tyranny and bring all people together with a common goal, liberty for all, will in later generations earn the distinction as forefather. The self evident truth that all men are created equal with rights that cannot be infringed. The right to live, the right to be free from tyranny, the right follow your dreams, the right to innovate, create, invent and inspire. No longer can our wars be fought and won with lead and fire, this creates tyranny and heartbreak, sorrow, pain and long sufferring. The time has come to sit at the table and present the future and stop repeatting the failures of the past. Yes, I am an American and the last I checked America was on the same planet as Europe, and Asia. and Africa, and the Middle East. We are all common men and we are all created equal, we can all be free. Its time to exercise our right to pursue happiness

Excellent response, Tiger5, I respect your list, 1 - 6 fully, and do agree. We would both be apologizing should we bump shoulders on the street. Manners and such are still around, just hard to find.

Your entire post was well written, without much fluff, and without due offense. I do applaud.

We are headed down a dark road as a people, especially when we cannot understand each other, and draw offense at the way 1 person expresses them-self to another, or in general. The general acceptance of others has dwindled, and faded. We cannot look past the basic to see the meanings or the depth, even when spoken simply.

Communication is a fine art when articulated, and done with grace, tho as i have said in previous posts, sometimes the grace and eloquence need be dropped for a more direct approach.

My hats off to you, and my respect given.

You can shock people without alienating them or hurting them or making them feel like they don't belong in this country.

I was not pointing out the bailouts...I'm not even suggesting that this didn't happen here.

My rant was towards the idea that American people show on occasion that they see themselves as an individual nation. One that stands above the glottalization of the world that can not be effected by it.

This has been made by American foreign policy and corporate internationals that took away American jobs.
which is a big part of what has made it possible you were hit this hard with this crisis.

I don't think that there is anything wrong with has attitude .... Only that reality is far different..

I can't even imagine how you got the idea I was pointing towards the crisis and bailouts.

My political position is Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: Like the Dalai Lama.... Well it is a little left. But not the kind you were thinking of. I'm sure.

Anyway...

Hav a nice day.

Peace
