Numerous threads are missing. when i go to open them they are gone. half of mine have been deleted. and this one will most likely get deleted too. I think ATS doesn't want us to know the actual truth. ATS is deleting threads and posts and only letting us read what they feel we should. This is what this site is ''supposed'' to be against...

The only thread(s) you've had removed were due to unclear, very minimal thread starts.

As the move message clearly stated:

AboveTopSecret.com takes pride in making every post count. Please do not create minimal posts to start your new thread. If you feel inclined to make the board aware of news, current events, or important information from other sites; please post one or two paragraphs, a link to the entire story, AND your opinion, twist or take on the news item as a means to inspire discussion or collaborative research on your subject.

I think those that are missing are having to do with a past member here. In which case it is for the best interest for the members here not to continue those threads

In ATS defence.

184,974 members, if they post on a weekly basis then its a real mayhem keeping it structured.
But deleting threads is wrong,if it happens without reason.

These threads pop up nearly daily; almost always authored by people with a month or two under their belts. Usually these threads are not indicative of ATS being against anyone. Usually they are posted by people who did not follow, or do not understand the rules here.

Threads get 404'ed for a variety of reasons, none of them nefarious. People posting duplicate threads is one of the most common causes. Minimal OP's that add nothing to the conversation are also at risk. Anything that pushes DMCA violation will go away as well. Oh and profanity or discussion of recreational drug use.

A quick read of the T&C's will explain every reason - there is no need to construct a conspiracy around that which is easily explained.

It's a conspiracy....against conspiracy theorists!!

Being serious now, 99.99% of these sorts of issues have a good explanation or you may have missed something. It happens to me once in a while.

On the other side you or the author of the other posts may have breached the T&C of the site and the thread was trashed.

Who knows

I'm experiencing problems opening certain threads related to the shooting. Maybe ATS is trying to distance itself from any scrutiny from the PTB. Makes a lot of sense to me .

I'm also confused as to what you mean... but I did have a similar worry that popped into my head the other day.

What would be better then shutting down a site and providing us with "evidence" of a global conspiracy when you could corrupt it from the inside and close it off, preventing us from being able to find anything out.

Its what I would do, its what most combatants do, and if you think about it we are in a sense at war

Take down the Intel by controlling it, then round up the stray ends...

I pose a question though, is it feasible that if any entity would or could do this and actually succeed at taking control of this site that we (or mods) have the ability to know if someone was messing with the site?

This has been discussed repeatedly.

When a thread is moved to another forum, or trashed, a PM is automatically generated and sent to the author of the thread. The PM contains the name of the staff member who initiated the move, and the reason behind it.

This is something that is automatic. When the staff member clicks the button to move it, it moves the thread AND sends the PM at the same time.

These constant statements about disappearing threads are becoming tiresome. If you're the author of the thread you know who moved it and why. If you're not the author of the thread and you're that concerned, send a staff member a note.

Thank you.
